HAIR & BEAUTY
JANUARY 2019 | ISSUE #75
Many focus new year resolutions on LOOKING good, and
that’s ok. The key to looking good is FEELING good. When
you feel good you glow and when you’re glowing from the
inside you’re skin will look awesome too. These aren’t big
life changing resolutions, it’s about the small things you do
each day.
Here are our top resolutions to keep you looking fabulous
for 2019.
#1 Remove make up every night
Hold your hand up if this is you. Yes, even my hand went
up, it’s something that is on my list too. By removing our
make up every night we allow our skin to breath and repair
itself. It’s also a way to take a couple of minutes to yourself
to wind down before you sleep.
#2 Listen to my skin
Our skin changes as do the seasons and we need to listen
to our skin when it cries out and nourish it with the correct
ingredients.
#3 I will stop popping my spots!
We all get pleasure in popping a spot, but it’s not good for
our skin. It opens us up to infection, potential scarring or
damaging the skin. I know it’s hard to resist but be patient,
try purifying treatments and your skin will thank you for it.
#6 Drink plenty of water
This is great for your general health too.
Mixed with a good nights sleep you’ll notice
an improvement in your skin very quickly if
you keep this up every day. If you’re not a
fan of plain water try adding lemon or a few
slices of your favourite fruit.
#7 Practice mindfulness
Mindfulness has been a hot topic and the
acknowledgement that our mental and
emotional state of mind affects the physical
is more widely accepted. Take time out and
get to know you, you may want to meditate,
do yoga, you may even choose to put on a
face mask and just chill with your thoughts
and some relaxing music. Whatever you
choose it’s important to take time for you.
What are your resolutions? Keep them
realistic and most of all achievable.
right for you. Written by Sarah Gare.
#4 Exfoliate my skin
Aim to exfoliate a couple of times a week, face and body.
The act of exfoliating removes dead skin and kick starts
the skin cell regeneration process. By regularly exfoliating
you’ll find that applying fake tan goes on better and your
make-up will glide on beautifully.
#5 Get enough sleep
We all get by on varying hours of sleep. They say 7-8
hours is optimal to function efficiently throughout the day.
Sleep gives our body chance to recharge and repair itself
and the amount of sleep we get each night affects the way
we feel both mentally and physically the next day.
So if you want to glow from the inside out... get a good
night’s sleep.
