TRUAN SALES
INC.
Truan Sales Inc. is a leading
manufacturer’s representative of sewer
pipe and fittings in the Southeast.
Andy Truan, founder and owner, has a
nostalgic link to Macon, through his father,
Joseph D. Truan, who was a B-24 pilot in
WWII. Andy can recall how his Aunt “Lib”
talked of staying at Macon’s Historic
Dempsey Hotel and would watch from her
hotel window to see her brother march
down Cherry Street. Andy’s father, “Joe D”
did his training at what is presently known
as the Lewis B. Wilson Airport in Macon.
David A. “Andy” Truan is a 1967 graduate of
Belmont University, Nashville, Tennessee. He
worked in various capacities with different
companies in the plastics industry but attributes
his ten year tenure with the family owned
business, Tridyn Industries, North Carolina as
being invaluable experience in the PVC pipe and
fittings. He went to work with the Dutch company
DYKA as vice president of the PVC pipe division
and established the plant that is now known as
Diamond Plastics Inc. just south of Macon.
Truan Sales Inc. was incorporated in 1982
and has become recognized at the leading
manufacturer’s representative of PVC pipe and
fittings in the Southeast. For the past two years,
Truan Sales had been the top sales producer of
its main line of products in the United States. A
new 30,000 square foot warehouse was added to
the existing 26,000 square foot warehouse/office.
Consequently, Truan Sales expects even more
growth in the future with the expanded space.
In 1984, Andy formed a second company,
Pond Dam Piping, Ltd to sell various piping
systems in the aquaculture and recreational
pond market. Andy designed systems
completely from PVC pipe and fittings which
eliminated the expensive corrosion drawback to
corrugated metal systems in use at that time.
Both companies benefit from a tight-knit,
dedicated staff of sixteen employees. The
employees strive to give the customer efficient,
courteous service with each and every order placed.
