LLC<br />
Hays Service, LLC is the outgrowth of the<br />
Hays Heating and Plumbing Company founded<br />
shortly after WWII in 1945 by <strong>Macon</strong> business<br />
and civic leader, Charles G. Hays, Sr. His vision<br />
was to start a business that could be passed on<br />
to his children and grandchildren, and today the<br />
third generation of the Hays’ family, Cal Hays,<br />
Jr., carries on the family tradition.<br />
Hays Service is a franchise operation of the<br />
LINC Service Network. The LINC Network is an<br />
organization of over 130 national and regional<br />
contractors headquartered in Pittsburg,<br />
Pennsylvania. The company was started by Cal<br />
Hays, Jr. in 1999. It was his father, Jim Hays, son<br />
of patriarch Charles Hays, Sr., who advanced the<br />
technology in the business to include air<br />
conditioning, and the name was changed to<br />
Hays Mechanical Contractors in the 1970s.<br />
When Cal, Jr. graduated from Georgia Tech in<br />
1977, just like his father had done before him,<br />
he joined the company and expanded services<br />
which prompted changing the name of the<br />
business to The Hays Corporation of Georgia.<br />
It was in 1999 when Cal, Jr. decided to<br />
organize a company to take over the services<br />
and maintenance business, which was operating<br />
as a separate division of the Hays Corporation.<br />
The new company is Hays Service, LLC.<br />
“Our focus has changed from construction to<br />
service, but increasing the value to our customers<br />
is always our goal,” Cal, Jr. commented. “Our<br />
business plan is assisted by the LINC Group and<br />
is virtually unlimited in opportunities. With<br />
rising energy costs and the ‘Green’ movement<br />
initiatives, our unique business of guaranteeing<br />
peak efficiency of heating and air conditioning<br />
equipment comes quickly to the forefront of alert<br />
financial managers.”<br />
Among the company’s clients of more<br />
than thirty years are <strong>Macon</strong>’s YKK, (USA),<br />
Wesleyan College and many other local and<br />
regional businesses.<br />
The Hays family and company officials have<br />
over the years been leaders in community and<br />
civic affairs. Rotary, Chambers of Commerce,<br />
and United Way are among the many<br />
organizations in which they participate.<br />
