Attendance & Punctuality<br />
Regular and punctual attendance is essential in ensuring that every individual can have full access to the<br />
opportunities provided by school and can reach his or her full potential. We take this very seriously at<br />
<strong>LHS</strong> and we expect parents to ensure that every effort is made to reach a goal of 100% attendance and<br />
punctuality.<br />
Parents can help by ensuring that:<br />
Students set off in good time to be at school by 8.45am.<br />
Dental and medical appointments are made outside school hours whenever possible.<br />
Family holidays are not taken during term time.<br />
The school will inform parents as soon as possible if their child has not been registered or<br />
signed in late. In this case we expect parents to contact school as soon as possible with a<br />
reason for absence.<br />
As a school we do not authorise family term time holidays,<br />
which is in line with Sefton Local Authority’s stance that such<br />
absences are not to be authorised.<br />
Parents do not have the automatic right to withdraw their<br />
child from school for a holiday.<br />
