Behaviour for Learning &
Rewards
Litherland High School has long been a vital and integral part of the local community, working with parents and
carers to ensure a positive, happy and successful learning experience for our young people. We all acknowledge that
exemplary standards of behaviour are essential components of a successful education. The promotion of good
behaviour in school depends on the quality of learning and teaching which takes place, the value students attach to
education and their knowledge of their rights and responsibilities in relation to it, positive and constructive
relationships based on mutual respect, the consistent use of a clear, transparent and fair system of behaviour
management used by all staff and understood and valued by students, parents and carers and a school culture
permeated by the use of praise, encouragement and rewards.
Good work and attitude are rewarded through both the Livo system and through the awarding of certificates and
prizes. A conscious effort is made by all our staff to recognise individual achievement and to suitably reward good
behaviour and attendance.
Rewards are issued for lots of different reasons including attendance, standard of work and representing the school
in a positive way.
Praise points are accumulated to achieve Livos, which are the ‘currency’ of our school.
