Languages<br />
There is the opportunity to study three languages at <strong>LHS</strong>, Spanish, French and Chinese.<br />
Spain is one of the UK’s major economic partners. Communication, negotiation and travel are all greatly<br />
facilitated by the ability to speak Spanish.The acquisition of Spanish will therefore be a considerable asset<br />
for 21st century adults, especially in the fields of business, marketing, tourism, law and the service<br />
industries to name but a few.<br />
There are more than 220 million French speakers around the world and it is the second most widely<br />
spoken language in the world. International businesses prefer to hire people who speak more than one<br />
language and French is the ideal language as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations.<br />
Skilled linguists have never been so much in demand! With more than 955 million speakers, Mandarin<br />
claims the top spot as the world’s most common language. China has become a huge market, and<br />
business leaders are looking for people who can speak Chinese and operate successfully in a Chinese<br />
cultural context.<br />
