Ban Ki-moon’s Leadership Roles
Co-chair Ban Ki-moon took on several
new leadership roles in 2018,
continuing to build on his legacy on the
Sustainable Development Goals and the
Ban Ki-moon Centre is supporting its
co-chair Ban Ki-moon in these roles as
much as possible.
In February 2018 Ban Ki-moon started
his term as President and Chair of the
Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI)
which is dedicated to supporting and
promoting strong, inclusive and
sustainable economic growth in
developing countries and emerging
economies. Founded to support and
promote the mainstreaming of green
growth, GGGI programs and projects
target economic growth that is
environmentally sustainable and
socially inclusive.

Furthermore, Co-Chair Ban Ki-moon completed his
Commission of the International Olympic Committee
(IOC). Achieving greater transparency, good
governance, responsibility and strengthening ethics are

other continents to share their vision on
the most pressing issues in this dynamic
region and the world at large.
