rich in protein and low in calories can help older adults with<br />
obesity lose more weight while maintaining muscle mass and<br />

142 people selfmonitored<br />
their diets<br />
through an online<br />
behavioral weight<br />
control program over<br />
a six-month period.<br />

who tracked each<br />
meal and snack<br />
they ate were more<br />
likely to lose weight<br />
than those who only<br />
tracked half or none<br />
of their meals. In just<br />

US fast-food restaurants<br />
in 1986, 1991<br />
and 2016 demonstrates<br />
that fast-food<br />
entrees, sides and<br />
desserts increased<br />
significantly in calories<br />
and sodium and<br />
entrees and desserts<br />
in portion size over<br />
time. The study also<br />
showed that while<br />
the variety of entree,<br />
sides and dessert<br />
options soared by<br />
226 percent, new<br />
or discontinued<br />
items tended to be<br />
less healthy than<br />
those that are currently<br />
being offered.<br />
