Preparing for Hurricane Season
When preparing for a hurricane, the most important thing you can
do is to be ready for any situation. The team at Stuart & Shelby
understands that hurricanes can be scary, but as long as you have the
proper supplies and an emergency shelter plan everything should be

We’ve put together three tips to help you get through hurricane
season:
1. It is important to have disaster supplies on hand. Things
such as flashlights, battery operated radio, non-perishables, first
aid kit, and batteries are essential during a hurricane.
2. Checking into your home and auto insurance might be the
most important thing you do before a hurricane. Confirm that
policies are valid and that coverage is appropriate, that you have
copies of your policies, and emergency phone numbers.
3. Develop an emergency plan with your family. Make sure family
members know how to turn off gas, electricity, and water. Also,
it is critical that all children know how to contact the police or
fire department.
