The Conway home of Dr. Lauren
Nolen exudes both comfort and
sophistication, a rare feat made
possible by her collaboration with local
designer Beth Reed of Design Actually.
Lauren is an obstetrician/gynecologist
and partner at Conway OB/GYN. She is
married to Chase Bender, and they have
a 15-month old daughter, Greer. Chase is
a consultant in the energy sector.
The couple purchased their home, which
was built in 1991, three years ago. The
residence totals 4520 square feet and
has four bedrooms, three full baths, and
two half-baths. Lauren and Chase were
attracted to the established neighborhood
and its trees. “The proximity to the
hospital also helped,” adds Lauren.
Lauren engaged Beth when tackling the
home’s design needs. “I stumbled upon
her Facebook page and looked at photos
of her previous work. After a consultation
I decided she was the woman for
the job,” says Lauren.
Rather than starting the venture with
preconceived ideas, Lauren trusted
Beth’s expertise and eye. “I gave Beth a
large amount of creative license on this
project. I had some thoughts but relied
on her to bring concepts to the table.
Once we got going, she figured out
what I liked and didn’t like. From there,
she created a vision, and we tailored it
together one piece at a time. It was so
much fun!” says Lauren.
“I feel like my clients see my style and
come to me because they like it and
trust I can put my spin on their existing
furniture. For example, in the beginning
