June 3–6 | 10am–3pm UCA, Mashburn Hall STEMulate Engineering Academy: Aspiring engineers and scientists entering grades 3 – 6 may attend. Students will “act as real-world engineers” as they dig into problems and design solutions. The focus this year will be engineering solutions to problems for superheroes. June 4–June 29 | 9am–12pm UCA, Snow Fine Arts Center UCA Youth Theatre of Central Arkansas Intensive Program – Junior Theatre (entering grades 5 – 8): The annual Youth Theatre of Central Arkansas Summer Intensive Program is dedicated to providing quality, intense training to young people in order to introduce and encourage them to experience the creative, imaginative world of theatre. June 11–August 1 | 8:30–10:30am Tuesdays & Thursdays UCA, Speech, Language, Hearing Clinic Smooth Sailing Days 2019: The UCA Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders invites children who stutter to participate in the Summer Fluency Program. The program is designed to provide speech services to school-age children who stutter. It is specifically geared toward children who need to manage their stuttering and enhance fluency in both learning and recreational activities. Visit uca.edu/camps to register. June 23-28 | Residential Camp | UCA Analysis and Investigation through Cyber-Based Scenarios Camp (AICS): AICS is a scenario-based cyber security camp where students act as homeland security field agents to solve cyber security issues by determining who is responsible, how they did it and what actions should be in place to detect and prevent future threats. June 24-28 | 8am–3pm UCA, Mashburn Hall Bearswrite: From Pencils to Pixels Creative Writing Camp: Bearswrite will involve students in five action-paced days of creative writing using both traditional methods and writing with technology. June 25-27 | 9am–12pm | UCA Downtown Cubs in the Kitchen: Culinary Camp: This three-day camp for kids ages 8 – 12 is back by popular demand. Each day your child will learn about each food group and explore innovative ways to incorporate different foods into their diets. Visit uca.edu/ camps to register. June 25-29 | 9am–3pm | UCA 2019 STEM Academy @ UCA: This is a one-week immersion experience for students entering grades 9 – 12. Three complementary activities (1) data analysis and visualization (2) empirical modeling and analysis and (3) toxicology and microscopy are developed to guide students to design, implement and analyze data from their own experiment with heart rates for Daphnia magna (water flea).
