describes a sense of coziness, warmth,
and togetherness. “We visited Denmark
with my whole family a few years ago
and fell in love with hygge and with
being happy with everything you have.”
“We both wanted an intimate wedding
in nature, so the first step was picking
a location. We, of course, decided on
our own backyard. The next step was
painting the house white,” says Aaron.
Planning for around 200 wedding
guests, the couple removed parts of
their back fence, opening their yard to
a large, grassy area along the Tucker
Creek Trail. They married under a giant
oak tree in Gatlin Park, Tucker Creek
flowing alongside them.
Kim’s twin sister Kelley served as maid
of honor, and her sister Tiffany was
matron of honor. Bridesmaids included
childhood friends Kelsey Lyle, Kelsey
Parsons, and Shelby Owens; Brittany
Duvall, Aaron’s sister-in-law; and
Melanie Mourot, his sister. Son Gabe
Duvall served as junior best man with
Aaron’s brother Kyle as best man.
Groomsmen included Charlie Mourot,
Aaron’s brother-in-law; Eric Kordsmeier,
his uncle; and Ryan Coyle, Kim’s
brother-in-law. Their beloved Oakley,
a Great Pyrenees-Lab mix, did best dog
honors and was accompanied down the
aisle by nephews Hudson Coyle and
Adler Duvall. Kim’s parents, Milton and
Cheryl Lane and Aaron’s parents, Rick
and Alma Duvall were also part of the
ceremony. Among the several out-oftown
guests was a member of Kim’s
Denmark family. Officiants were Pastor
Dan Hauser of Christ Lutheran Church
and Monsignor Jack Harris of Sacred
Heart Catholic Church. Ceremony
music was courtesy Conway Symphony
Orchestra violinist Gustavo Fernandez.
Kim conceptualized and styled the
entire ceremony and reception, and the
day included many loving, personal
details. Aaron escorted his and Kim’s
mother down the aisle, each carrying
bouquets of ranunculus flowers with
personalized letters attached from
their respective marrying children.
Kim’s grandmother, “Gweem” was the
first person she called after becoming
engaged. “She is one of my closest
confidants…and she told me I could
wear her wedding dress, an incredible
honor. I tried it on with her and my
Mom that night, but she was so
tiny when she got married the dress
wouldn’t even zip!” Gweem passed
away suddenly during wedding
planning. “Her passing was extremely
challenging, but it brought my sisters
and Mom together the day I tried on
the wedding dress I wore. I sewed
a heart-shaped piece of one of my
Grandad’s favorite ties into the lining of
the dress as an ode to them both.”
