I recently attending a meeting regarding the safety of the crossroads and the area around it,
including the school entrance, associated parking and the route of quarry lorries. Present at the
meeting were Derek Thomas MP and representatives from Highways England, Cormac and the
Parish Council. The meeting was productive and the plan is to hold and a similar meeting in the
near future where local residents and the school community are invited to share their concerns
and suggest improvements. When a date is confirmed, I will pass it on and I strongly urge you to
attend and let your voice be heard.
Congratulations to Mrs Patrick and her
partner Tom who
recently welcomed their second child. Oscar
Donald Thomas
Patrick was born on the 25th May and both
baby and mum are
doing well.
On the 12th July from 1:30-3pm, we will be holding a Careers Fair for KS2, particularly Y6. The
aim of this session will be to raise awareness of the huge range of jobs that are available to young
people when they leave education. We are dedicated to preparing our children for their lives outside
of school and this event will be the first of its kind that we have held. If you are available to
support this event by explaining your job role, talking to children about it, showing some equipment
or sharing some stories, we would really appreciate it. If you can attend, please contact me
on a.anderson@ludgvan.cornwall.sch.uk. All careers and job roles welcomed. Thank you
Please be aware that if your child wears a dress or skirt to school and enjoys doing gymnastics at
playtime and lunchtime, it is fine if they wish to wear shorts underneath.
Please ensure you state in your child’s diary where children are going after school. We have had
the odd incident where children who usually walk on their own to the community centre have
not been collected because they forgot or were unaware that they should have been attending a
club. Staff are following the correct procedure, but this can leave to some distress for children and
parents. Thank you.
