New company for Panasonic
security business
Panasonic has announced that it is to establish
a new company to operate its security systems
business in Japan and overseas following the
Urmet UK is awarded Secured by
Design status
Urmet UK has been awarded Secured by
Design certification, joining the UK’s official
police security initiative which aims to prevent
crime through design innovations.
Secured by Design plays a crime prevention
role in the planning process to ‘design out’
crime in a wide range of building sectors. It has
achieved some significant successes including
one million homes built to SBD standards with
reductions in crime of up to 87%.

strategic co-investment with Polaris Capital
Group.
The new company and co-investment is
aimed at achieving stable growth in a market
that Panasonic believes is forecast for growth.
The new company will utilise Polaris’s
experienced cultivated from numerous
investments with manufacturers and large
organisations. Strengthening its solutions
capabilities with proactive alliances and M&As
the new company will aim to enhance its
revenue and profitability globally centred on the
North American market.
After establishment the new company’s
security cameras and software are planned to
be sold through existing Panasonic sales
companies in Europe.
Urmet door entry and access control
solutions have been tested in conjunction with
doors by Premier Security & Fire Consultants
the supplier of Secured by Design community
entrance steel door sets.

TDSi is acquired by the
Vitaprotech Group
TDSi has announced that it has agreed to be
acquired by Vitaprotech Group. The acquisition
continues Vitaprotech’s growth strategy which
has included several acquisitions in the market
over the last two years.
The acquisition of TDSi aligns with the
Group’s and TDSi’s growth strategy to develop
export sales of technological security solutions
for sites around the world and enables
Vitaprotech to expand its access control
portfolio, to strengthen its export presence
and to access international distribution
networks in the sector.
For TDSi, this merger will allow it to speed
up the finalisation of its new range of GARDiS
products including the launch of Access
Control as a Service through the GARDiS ONVIF
Compatible Open Source software platform
and to benefit from the additional resources
that the Vitaprotech Group brings to
strengthen its market penetration in markets it
currently doesn’t service through the use of
Vitaprotech Group business development and
sales teams.
For Vitaprotech Group’s perimeter intrusion
detection business, TDSi will become the
logistics and technical support base in the
United Kingdom.
