Born January 16, 2001 in Columbus; he was a son of Matt and Amanda (Chaney) Cordell. A 2019 graduate of Madison Plains High School where he was active in football, FFA and was on the state champion power lifting team; Mason loved motocross and dirt bikes. Besides hunting, fishing, Dale Hollow Lake and snowmobiling with his buddies; Mason valued his family above all else. Mason was proud to be a Christian and attended the Mt. Sterling Church of the Nazarene where he had been baptized. He will be deeply missed by his parents Matt and Amanda, sisters Arington, Aniston and Callie; brother Case; paternal grandparents Dan and Linda Cordell, maternal grandparents Karla Redding, Randy Redding (Ramona Porter) and Mike and Lisa Chaney; great-grandparents Bob and Barbara Redding and Leeman and Mary Lewis; aunts and uncles Lisa and Steve Thornsberry, Cody and Sara Redding, Amanda Cook, Nate and Jenna Chaney and Jennifer Chaney; many cousins and numerous friends. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 25 at the Mt. Sterling Church of the Nazarene, 228 N. Market Street, Mt. Sterling. Interment will follow in Paint Memorial Cemetery, London. Visitation for family and friends were held from 2-8 PM Wednesday, July 24 at Madison Plains High School, 800 Linson Road, London. A Scholarship Fund in Mason’s name is being established. Once a month, the group CHAMBERS Jodi Kay Chambers, 47, of Springfield, died July 18, 2019 in her residence. Born Sept. 23, 1971 in Columbus, she was a daughter of Joseph and Martha (Rolfe) Chambers. Survivors include her lifetime partner Brian Gersper; children Emily Elizabeth Chambers, Robert Joseph Chambers and Chloe Rose Gersper all of Springfield; her mother Martha Chambers of London; granddaughter Brianna Rae Parker; sister Tiffany (Eric) Miller of Marysville; uncles David Rolfe of Columbus and Harold (Sue) Rolfe of Wilmington; several cousins including cousin Robin (Juan) Green of Grove City. She was preceded in death by her father Joseph R. Chambers; infant daughter Rebecca Chambers; grandmothers Helen Chambers and Mary Jo Whiteside Rolfe, grandfather Harold Rolfe and aunt June A. FORTALEZA Sieglinde Maria Teresa (Loesch) Fortaleza, (Linda Teresa), 88 of London, died Tuesday July 23, 2019 in Madison Health. Born Oct. 11, 1930 in Lesckau, Czechlovakia to Joseph and Elizabeth Loesch. Survived by her daughter Mary (Bryan) Fowler of London; son David Joseph (Stephanie Brinson) Loesch of Seattle, Washington; grandchildren Felicia Minor, James Minor, Vincent Fowler, Madison Brinson, Lars Brinson; great grandchild Taylor Weddington and two nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents and son Daniel Gunther Loesch. Following Linda’s wishes, visitation and service will not be observed. Take-out is also offered. All are welcome. obituaries KENNEDY Susi Kennedy, 79, of West Jefferson, died July 16, 2019 in Mt. Carmel Hospital. Born April 18, 1940 in Madison County, she was a daughter of Pearl and Mona (Wilson) Mahan. Susi had worked for Tahoe Timber Trails in California before retiring. Survivors include her children Kevin Kennedy (fiancée Lisa Kremer) and Jennifer Kennedy (Larry Stark); grandchildren Elizabeth Kennedy, Misty (Bo) Briant, Melanie (Matt) Aldridge, Madalyn Kennedy, Morgan Kennedy and Matthew Kennedy; great-grandchildren Nicholas Linton, Mathew Aldridge and Hayden Briant; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Sam” Kennedy, several brothers and sisters and by Edgar and Iva Myers, who raised her. A gathering of friends and family to celebrate Susi’s life will be held on July 28, 2019 from 3-7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lilly Chapel. LITTLER Clarabel Littler, 92 died July 22, 2019, at Bluebird Retirement Community in London, Ohio. The youngest child of Frank and Ruth (Heise) Phillips, she was born on June 17, 1927. Clarabel grew up on a farm outside of West Jefferson and later graduated from London High School. Her first job after high school was working in the VA office in downtown London, where she met her future husband, Richard Littler, after his return from World War II. Following their marriage in 1948, they spent six years on a farm outside Plumwood, where both of their daughters, Cheryl and Linda, were born. Clarabel worked mosy of her adult life at the Madison County Courthouse, starting at the County Extension Service; at the Bureau of Support; and later, as secretary for the county prosecutor, a position she held until her retirement. After Dick’s death in 1986, she spent vacations from work traveling with friends, as well as developing her lifelong love of bridge and euchre, both of which she played until the week of her death. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of London, as well as a variety of organizations, including Phi Beta Psi Sorority, Twentieth Century Club, the London Country Club, the Coover Society, the Golden Girls, the Madison County Senior Center, and, of course, her monthly bridge and euchre clubs. Besides her parents and husband, Clarabel was preceded in death by sister Charlene(Bryson) Evans, sister Dorothy Mae (Harold) Siebold, and brother Charles (Sue) Phillips; parents- in- law James and Jeanette Littler; brother- in- law Robert Littler and brother-and-sister-in-law Robert and Janet (Littler) Wilson. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Page) Vornbrock and Linda (Ken) Gerke; grandchildren Kelley (Vornbrock) Shellhaas, Kristin (Vornbrock) Rose, Sarah (Gerke) Coffmon, Daniel Gerke, Rachel Gerke; and eight great grandchildren; as well as sisterin-law Beverly Littler; cousin Susan Mc- Cain; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; and devoted friends and neighbors David and Marty Shaw. The family would also like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Bluebird Retirement Community for their exceptional care and concern for Clarabel over the past nine months.
