Bringin’ Up The Past<br />
If you’re in Creston, ya gotta<br />
check out the Creston Museum.<br />
It’s easy to get to, it’s just off the<br />
highway, but it’s also easy to<br />
get lost in! The staff is friendly<br />
and knowledgeable and if you<br />
are on time for a tour, take it. It's<br />
well worth hearing all the details<br />
behind the many exhibits.<br />
Outside there are many displays<br />
of old farming and mining<br />
equipment, engines and antique<br />
tractors and trucks. The first big<br />
room inside the museum is a<br />
scale model of the Creston Valley,<br />
with a working model CP train.<br />
The Seventh Siding Trackers<br />
model railway club has its headquarters<br />
at the Creston Museum<br />
and the diorama they are working<br />
on evolves constantly.<br />
A few of the fascinating exhibits<br />
include a whole room dedicated<br />
to old-fashioned doctoring,<br />
another to all the household tools<br />
and personal accoutrements<br />
used by women a century ago,<br />
and a replica of a yaksumilth or<br />
Ktnuxa sturgeon-nosed canoe<br />

The Creston Museum will lead<br />
tours of the oldest residential<br />
neighbourhoods, one or two different<br />
tours of downtown Creston,<br />
an all-new Forest Lawn Cemetery<br />
tour, and they hope to work in a<br />
wander through Pioneer Cemetery,<br />
too.<br />

Pioneer chores, pioneer schools,<br />
pioneer crafts – it’s a different<br />
theme every day for a whole<br />
