You’ll never be bored in Manchester. There’s so much to see and do, especially
in winter! So, to get you started, we've compiled a list of places to explore,
attractions to visit and exciting activities to experience together, with friends,
or as a family.
MANCHESTER ART GALLERY
Manchester Art Gallery houses one of
the UK’s finest art collections presented
to visitors in imaginative new ways,
thanks to a £35 million transformation.
Highlights include outstanding pre-
Raphaelite paintings, craft, design and
early 20th-century British art. There’s
also a wide range of events, from talks
and tours to hands-on activities for
children and adults. If you’re hungry
there are two cafes to choose from.
For those with children aged three to
six make sure you try one of the gallery’s
explorer tool belts to help you explore.
Belts include binoculars, magnifying
glasses, spot cards and much more.
On the top floor, the gallery of
craft and design was specifically
created for touching, with ceramics,
glass, metal and wood objects.
Manchester Art Gallery is located on
Mosley Street and is free to visit.

GIN EXPERIENCE
This one’s for the grown-ups. Tour the
City of Manchester Distillery, learn about
the often illustrious, sometimes dark
and intriguing history of gin, and gain an
understanding of how gin’s diverse flavours
are concocted during the City of Manchester
Gin Experience. In this purpose-built space,
in the heart of the resurgent Green Quarter,
you’ll enjoy plenty of complimentary drinks;
from the perfect serve gin and tonics to
classic cocktails. Finally, let loose on the mini
copper pot stills and create your very own
personalised bottle of gin to take home.
The City of Manchester Distillery is located
at Manchester Three Rivers and the Gin
Experience costs £95 per person.
