infrastructure recoveryreport on<br />
Tuesday, on theeve of the 9thanniversary<br />
of the<strong>September</strong>2010 earthquake.<br />
The report, writtenbyWaimakariri<br />
DistrictCouncil seniorengineering<br />
adviser Gary Boot, advised 56 of the 58<br />
recovery projects havenow been<br />
completed and in linewiththe $38.7<br />
million budget.<br />
MayorDavid Ayers described it as an<br />
‘‘important milestonehistoricallyfor the<br />
council’’.<br />
‘‘This is thebiggestprojectwhichhas<br />
beenundertakeninthe 160year history of<br />
this district andtocompleteitinline with<br />
thebudget is areflection onthe quality of<br />
work byour staff.’’<br />
Speaking on Mr Boot’s behalf, three<br />
waters manager Kalley Simpson said the<br />
tworemaining projects would be<br />
completed as partofongoingregeneration<br />

Thoseprojects includetheFeldwick<br />
catchment reticulation, which willbe<br />
completed over thenextfew months, and<br />
theFeldwickstormwatermanagement<br />
area,tobecompleted during the2020/21<br />

Councillors approvedadditional<br />
funding forthe Johns Road stormwater<br />
project in Rangiora, with $298,000 to be<br />
broughtforward fromthe 2022/23 financial<br />
year andanadditional $332,000fromthe<br />
presentfinancial year towards thedesign<br />
andconstructionofthepipeline.<br />
MrSimpson saidthe extrafunding<br />
would allow staff to speedupthe project<br />
andminimisedisruptiontoresidents, but<br />

the<strong>Canterbury</strong> Land andWaterRegional<br />
