Awards (pg. 30)- no additions,<br />
<strong>2019</strong> South Dakota Nurses Association<br />
By-Laws—(pg. 31—35) Marie Cissel discussed proposed changes and rationales for them,<br />
Questions regarding District expectation for fundraising and money for membership development, how it is<br />
communicated, question regarding the need to include it in the By-Laws<br />
Christina and Eric clarified budgetary process and how the money is allocated/expenses approved<br />
The process of voting when no notice is given was clarified.<br />
GRC (pg.37)- Carrie provided additional information about Federal legislation, topics discussed at the ANA<br />
meeting that she and Eric attended and encouraged all members to sign up for the Capitol Updates and<br />
RN Action notifications for Federal Legislation updates. She also encouraged each District to review GRC<br />
membership, assure members want to remain active and asked those districts without representation to elect<br />
someone.<br />
Nominations (pg.38)- correction: Lois Tschetter was Chair not Linda Burdette<br />
NSTAT (pg. 39)—Deb Fischer Clemens- discussed need to pay attention, nurses having the voice, we are the<br />
largest advocacy group for health and nurses, our voice is important and respected<br />
Membership Assembly (pg. 40-41)- no additions<br />
PAC- (pg. 41)—Julie Dangel- Goal for fundraising is $1000, reviewed the process of supporting candidates,<br />
possibility of changes, discussed need to elect 2 members at large to be on the PAC<br />
Deb Fischer Clemens nominated Jacquie Kelley and Carla Texel. Heidi Pelzel —Moved that nominations cease,<br />
Tom Stenvig stated moved to call the question— passed,<br />

Foundation(pg. 42) Tom provided the following additions- <strong>2019</strong> the foundation will celebrate 20 years, he<br />
reviewed the amount of scholarship dollars that have been given thus far.<br />
Those gathered gave a round of applause of Thank you to Tom and other members of the Foundation over<br />
the years.<br />
South Dakota Board of Nursing (pg.43-44) Gloria Damgaard provided these additions/highlights- there is now<br />
audio streaming of the BON meeting via sd.net, fees will increase Nov 1-this is the first increase since 2003,<br />
new rules for APRN in July<br />
Center for Nursing Workforce (pg.45-46)-Linda Young, in addition to the written report, Linda reported that<br />
CNW will be putting out a new report on supply, there is a Strategic Planning Session in April and reports will<br />
be available, will send date to Eric and all will be welcome, Nursing Leadership Program cohort is finishing<br />
mentorship—new cohort will then be developed in another area<br />
NPASD—no additions<br />
