Welcome
Welcome to our fresh new-look brochure; we hope you like the change! We
have also been working hard to make some small, subtle changes to both the
venues, with more to come throughout the year. We’re sure you’ll enjoy the
improvements on your next visit.
The season is jam-packed with delicious offerings for you, from traditional
favourites to new and exciting shows. We are delighted to be able to
welcome back pantomime favourite, Ben Humphrey as Dame Ginny for
our annual Christmas extravaganza. This year’s trip to panto land tells the
story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and if Ben’s return wasn’t exciting
enough for you we’ve also got international and West End star, Oliver
Brooks returning to the cast as Muddles, having just finished a world tour
of Hairspray. You definitely won’t want to miss out!
It’s not all about current stars though. We will also be presenting the Young
Rep in their new production of the classic Greek tragedy, Medea set to come
to Huntingdon Hall in the spring. See the stars of tomorrow today.
We have also overhauled how you can support us and our work. As a charity,
we rely on the kindness and generosity of the public to continue to provide
arts for the people of Worcester and beyond, and we have made it even easier
to get on board and keep the arts live in Worcester. For more information and
to sign up to our schemes please visit worcester-rep.co.uk/supporters.
It is an exciting time in Worcester, with so many fantastic projects,
partnerships and productions all over the city and county. We are delighted
to be a part of all the positive changes. We hope you will enjoy being a part
of it too.
Best wishes from all the Staff and Volunteers at
Yes, Prime Minister is a very funny, thought-provoking political satire based
on the successful television series that captured the political consciousness
of the nation. The original writers have reunited to produce an updated play
for the stage in which the Prime Minister, Jim Hacker tries to deal with such
problems as immigration, sex-trafficking, energy, Europe and sleaze, aided
Tchaikovsky: The Man
Revealed with John Suchet
Friday 13th March at 7.30pm
Tickets £18
It may be hard to believe, but the man behind such joyous music as
Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, The 1812 Overture and many more of the best
loved music ever written, was a deeply troubled individual unsure of his
own talent and tortured by his sexuality. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s life –
and premature death – has long been mythologised and misunderstood.
Classic FM presenter and former television reporter and newscaster, John
Suchet, draws back the curtain to show us the real man behind the music
in Tchaikovsky: The Man Revealed, examining the complex and contradictory
character of this great artist, and how he came to take his rightful place
among the world’s greatest composers.
