Safety, Confidence

and Viability

The eventual re-opening of society is likely to

offer a challenge for anyone in the business of

providing a service to consumers.

The primary focus for business re-opening

and recovery is, and remains, the safety of

customers and clients.

In this regard, adherence to government

guidelines and best practice safety measures

are the priority. Any solutions that might be

considered are done so within this context.

Gambit Nash have been speaking to our

existing clients, and there is a broad but

consistent focus on three areas as society

re-opens; safety, confidence, and viability.

Safety

Safety can take many forms and is dependent

on the business type involved. Social enterprises

that rely on channelling large numbers of

people into venues or to events are perhaps the

most challenging.

It may be some time before a return to pre

pandemic practices can be expected in those

areas and compromises and creative solutions

may play a role in the interim.

Confidence

It is anticipated that confidence will be an issue

for returning clients and customers to most

Business-to-Consumer markets (B2C).

Changes in working practice that provide the

safety required may need to be highly visible as

well as effective. What these are and how much

they impact your business will only be possible

to calculate on a case-by-case basis.

Viability

With unique solutions comes the issue of

testing the viability of these solutions in the

real world under circumstances where no

historical data exists to support operating

under these conditions.

Challenges such as working with a reduced

number of clients, with remote staff, with

restrictions on the products or services you can

offer or with extra safety requirements will all

change the balance of viability.

A creative solution needs not only to be

implemented, but often the challenge is to make

sure any alterations to established practice are

understood by clients and customers. A nervous

customer base is likely to question a novel

approach if it is not explained properly.
