Linda Williams
FRC membership is very diverse and this month it was so interesting to learn about
Linda Williams’ passion for Morgans! Ironically, Denny Emerson just touted the versatility of
the breed in a recent post!
Favorite horse memory? My favorite horse memory would probably be when my first foal
was born. I bought a Morgan mare that I showed in English Pleasure and Pleasure
Driving for a couple of years and then bred her. This was my first baby so it was very
special. I had him for 32 years, showed him in English Pleasure and Pleasure Driving
and he was the best horse I ever had. I still have 4 Morgans, 2 mares out of my original
broodmare, a show gelding I bought, and a gelding that my trainer gave me.
Why you chose your riding discipline and favorite thing about your discipline. I chose my
riding discipline (English Pleasure and Pleasure Driving) because I fell in love with Morgans
and wanted to learn to ride Saddle Seat and drive. It was quite a challenge but it
was fun. My favorite thing about it was winning a class and making a victory pass.
Favorite thing about your horse. My favorite thing about my Morgans is their versatility.
From the show ring to the trails I can always have fun with them.
What are three things that can usually be found in your refrigerator? The 3 things that are
usually in my refrigerator are chocolate milk, granola bars, and Esbilac (replacement
milk for raising baby wildlife).
Do you have a personal motto or catchphrase? I don’t really have a favorite motto but my
favorite word is WHY. I always like to know why something happens or doesn’t happen.
It drives my horse vet crazy!
