Chameleon
The Adapter
Even though many animals have outstanding camouflage
skills, the chameleon is the king of all deception. These
unique animals contain chromatophore, which are specially
colored pigments that allow their skin tone and patterns
to change. Their changing patterns are used to blend into
the environment, but that is not the only reason. These skin
changes mimic their emotional energy. For example, some
chameleons reflect dark colors when they are angry or want
to scare another animal. Chromatophore gives chameleons
the ability to adapt to their surroundings quickly.
Like high school, college has many cliques and it can be
hard to breakthrough unless you fit certain criteria. However,
some people transcend all groups because they have
diverse experiences and dynamic personalities that mesh
with all people. Adapters connect with nearly everyone
because they are charismatic and optimistic about the
future. These captivating creatures can hold conversations
with Gamers, Athletes, Artsy Kids, Greeks, and even
Hotheads. So when walking to class with an Adapter,
they will often seem like the college Oprah and you start
to wonder if that makes you Gayle. Adapters are great
friends to have because they will introduce you to many
other species and you will begin to feel like an on campus
celebrity yourself.
