All too often we see ambulances hurrying to and from an incident, and equally all too often we never give any thought to the team behind those vehicles – the technicians who look after them. In this issue we aim to put that right – Stuart Woolley gives us the lowdown on the West Midlands Ambulance Service and the workshop technicians who ensure these lifesaving vehicles are kept in tip-top order. There’s clearly a lot of pressure on them, because an ambulance has to be completely and utterly reliable in every respect – but it’s something that we take for granted.
