news 08 Schaeffler reveals latest LuK, INA and FAG references LuK, INA and FAG all feature in the latest new-to-range bulletin published by original equipment (OE) manufacturer and supplier, Schaeffler. Three new part numbers have been released – covering kits for LuK clutch, INA timing chain and FAG wheel bearings – to cater for various models and engine specifications. The first focus is on a new LuK RepSet Pro, a complete one-box solution for hydraulic clutch systems, containing both a clutch kit and concentric slave cylinder (CSC) inside the box. The new kit is fitted to Ford Galaxy, S-Max and Mondeo (2014-onwards) models with both 2.0 TDCi and 2.0 TDCi Bi-Turbo engines. Schaeffler always recommends replacing the CSC or slave cylinder when installing a new clutch, to avoid consequential damage and complaints in the hydraulic system. Switching to INA, there is a new complete timing chain kit repair solution for Volkswagen Audi Group applications fitted with 1.4 TSi and 1.6 (2008-2016) engines. These include the Audi A1 and A3; SEAT Alhambra, Altea, Altea XL, Córdoba, Ibiza and Leon; ŠKODA Octavia II, Rapid and Yeti, as well as the VW Beetle, CC, Golf V/VI, Passat, Polo, Scirocco, Sharan, Tiguan and Touran. A timing chain transfers the rotational movement of the crankshaft to the camshaft and operates under continuous stress which, over time, can lead to wear and the need to fit a replacement. Each INA Timing Chain Kit contains all of the the necessary OE parts for a professional service, including chain, gears, phasers and gasket, providing the perfect answer for technicians. Meanwhile, FAG announces the arrival of a new Generation 3 (Gen.3) wheel bearing kit, suitable for all Audi A4 models from MY2015. Gen.3 wheel bearings are the very latest complete bolt-on ‘hub units’ with a twin flange, often featuring magnetic encoder rings and cabling for safety systems. Inside the box, in addition to the bearing itself, are four mounting bolts and a hub bolt – again, providing technicians with everything needed for a quick, simple and accurate repair. Schaeffler will be revealing more new-to-range developments over the coming months, demonstrating the manufacturer’s commitment to delivering OE solutions to the aftermarket which allow technicians to ‘fit and forget’. Milltek Sport Launches New Toyota Supra A90 Exhaust System The all-new Toyota Supra; as the tuner car that literally EVERYONE is talking about, the latest product to emanate from Milltek’s Derbyshire factory is bound to be very popular. The British firm has had its own demo car for a few weeks now and has created a stunning and effective system that offers both aural and dynamic enhancements. Being one of the first tuners in Europe to have access to the car, Milltek debuted its prototype system at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed to huge acclaim. Since then, the firm has added thousands of miles of road and dyno testing in order to perfect a range of options to allow Supra owners all over the world to truly personalise their car. Interestingly, the Supra’s spec changes around the world, and naturally, Milltek has created a solution to suit each set of regulations and every configuration. Difference are mainly evident in the downpipe. US and the rest of the world doesn’t yet feature a Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF) in the system, whereas the UK and Europe does. Because of this, Milltek offers two distinct solutions. For the US and equivalent markets, owners can chose from resonated or non-resonated axle-back systems with no less than 5 separate trim options. Cerakote Black, Polished, Brushed Titanium, Burnt Titanium and Carbon can all be ordered to create a truly wonderful look on the Toyota’s aggressive rear. European and UK spec systems consist of a more complex system that runs from the rear of the GPF. Resonated/EC Approved valved and Race Non-valved systems can be selected with the same 5 trims options, allowing tuners and owners to select everything from mild to wild, and in the case of the valved system – both! In all instances, the systems are based around a wellproven 70mm diameter tube that is precision mandrel bent for optimum flow. Aerospace grade non-magnetic stainless is used throughout, and tone is carefully tuned to be sonorous and pleasing, without any drone or cabin resonance at motorway cruising speeds. Perfect as a standalone upgrade or essential as the first step in a more comprehensive tuning package, expect to see many Supras sporting a Milltek system in future. 8 News.indd 1 07/10/2019 14:31
