DENSO updates lambda sensor
range with 10 new part numbers
DENSO has added
ten new original
equipment (OE)
quality part numbers
to its lambda
sensor range, with the new
references linked to 46 OE
numbers and covering an
additional 900,000 vehicles.
The components, now
available on the DENSO E-
Catalogue and TecDoc, cover
a diverse range of vehicle
applications. Nine DENSO
patented A/F sensors cover
modern vehicle applications
that use genuine DENSO
technology from factory. The
tenth reference is a new type
of universal fit sensor made
to OE specifications and
covers a huge variety of car
types, demonstrating DEN-
SO’s commitment to covering
the entire car parc.
The preference of DENSO
sensors among vehicle manufacturers
(VMs) is almost
completely driven by highend
A/F sensor technology.
This allows VMs to engineer
the most reliable, flexible and
cost-effective engine management
systems, including
additional functionalities to
improve engine performance
and emission reduction
systems. Because of their
accuracy, fast activation time,
wide detection range and robustness,
these sensors are
used in the exhaust systems
of petrol, hybrid and diesel
powertrains.
DENSO Aftermarket A/F
sensors match OE specifications,
meaning that using
these replacement sensors
will allow the engine to run at
top performance and provide
effective emission control for
many years to come, just
as intended by the VM and
DENSO engineers.
Rules for connected equipment have changed
From 1 October 2019, anyone buying a new
roller brake tester must make sure it’s a model
that can connect to the MOT testing service.
This includes buying replacement equipment,
and as part of the process of getting
authorisation to carry out MOTs at a test
station.
We’ve done this to modernise testing in
garages, save garages time and reduce the
risk of error and fraud.
Working with manufacturers
We’re working with manufacturers to develop
other types of connectable equipment.
These are:
• diesel smoke meters
• exhaust gas analysers
• decelerometers
• headlamp aligners
The rules for these kinds of equipment have not changed, but DVSA is planning to do so in the
future. You can find more about MOT garage equipment on GOV.UK
