<strong>in</strong>novative city is construct<strong>in</strong>g the world’s largest ferris wheel,<br />
add<strong>in</strong>g yet another eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g marvel to an impressive list that’s<br />
been amassed over a relatively short time period. Now th<strong>in</strong>k about<br />
this <strong>in</strong> the context of attractions like The Venetian Macau’s artificial<br />
canal network, or the m<strong>in</strong>iature New York City at the New York, New<br />
York <strong>in</strong> Las Vegas, or even the sky-scrap<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>f<strong>in</strong>ity pool at the<br />
Mar<strong>in</strong>a Bay Sands <strong>in</strong> S<strong>in</strong>gapore. All of these are effectively<br />
eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g and design achievements that have come to def<strong>in</strong>e<br />
cas<strong>in</strong>os already, and <strong>in</strong> some cases entire towns!<br />
This, given all of the digital takeover potential described above, is<br />
what cas<strong>in</strong>o owners and operators will need to be th<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g about <strong>in</strong><br />
the next five, 10, or 15 years. Just another cas<strong>in</strong>o resort - even a<br />
beautiful and luxurious one with a massive gam<strong>in</strong>g floor - is<br />
unlikely to offer much specifics appeal to the modern gamer who’s<br />
used to digital convenience and sees noth<strong>in</strong>g special <strong>in</strong> an <strong>in</strong>-person<br />
slot mach<strong>in</strong>e or poker table. However, what if a new Vegas<br />
establishment hired an eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g team to beat out Dubai’s new<br />
ferris wheel? What if a major European city challenged the highest<br />
skyscraper <strong>in</strong> its country with a new cas<strong>in</strong>o resort? What if a country<br />
built an artificial island <strong>in</strong>corporat<strong>in</strong>g ferry service to a faux-tropical<br />
cas<strong>in</strong>o venue? These features and attractions can still make an impact<br />
that onl<strong>in</strong>e gam<strong>in</strong>g can’t match.<br />
It’s for this reason that we might expect a significant push toward<br />
<strong>in</strong>novative and dar<strong>in</strong>g eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> this particular space.
