There are six different
sections you can take part
in, singing, urban dance,
stand-up comedy, theatre,
film and magic with the
latter being a new addition
There is a prize of €250
for the best contestant in
each section and you can find
the full rules in each town’s
Youth Information Centre.
Fisherman’s friend

A fisherman in his midfifties
had to be treated by
the emergency services in
Javea after being thrown
against ironwork on the
boat and ending up in the
sea.
The incident happened
about 15 nautical miles out
to sea when the man slipped,
hit a winch and was tossed
into the water.
His colleagues managed to
get him back on board and
contacted the ambulance
service who were waiting on
the dock when the boat returned.
The fisherman suffered
broken ribs and had
water on the lungs but is
expected to make a full recovery.
Sources say that the victim
is due to retire shortly,
a move that may now be
brought forward.
Arabian Nights
in Javea

THE Fila Ballesters Moors
and Christians association
have announced a show
for all the family to help
welcome in Christmas.
“Noches de Arabia” (Arabian
Nights) is a musical
based on the story of Aladdin
and will be performed
for one night only at the
Palau Municipal d’Esports
on 22 December.
The show is a performance
by the Gabriel Amador ballet
company.
Tickets are €10 in advance
and €12 from the box office
on the night. Sales points
in the town are Xabiacasca,
RBK Barber Shop, Cristina
Catala Hairdresser, the An
Shebeen Bar, La Mar de
Flors florist and the Puerto
bookshop.
In Benitatxell you can buy
tickets from the Aloe store
and in Gata de Gorgos at
Imatge hairdressers.
