SPLASH ART
EXHIBITION FOR
WAVES charity
The art exhibition on 23rd and 24th November
2019 was convened to showcase Splash artists’
burgeoning artwork and to raise much needed
funds for the Seaford charity, Waves.
Waves (www.wavesseaford.org.uk) has been providing
support and help to families for almost two decades. Its
drop-in sessions at 8 Church Street, Seaford, are mainly
run by volunteers, but Waves also employs family
workers. They provide practical support and a listening
ear to families experiencing relationship difficulties,
financial hardship, loneliness and despair. They offer a
listening service in schools for children. There are also
scheduled come and play sessions for young children,
parenting guidance on child behaviour and much more
at the centre.
The sale of various items
of artwork, refreshments,
and donations raised
amounted to almost £900.
This was an outstanding
achievement and
enormous thanks are due
to all the many volunteers
who made the event possible; to Seaford Baptist
Church for hosting the event, advertising it to various
groups, and helping with the administration; and of
course to the talented artists (and their families)
who helped to organise and run the event and their
personal financial donations. Finally thanks go to all the
many wonderful people who visited the exhibition,
to those who bought artwork and others who made
such generous donations which were all received with
much gratitude. Huge thanks also to Fran at Seaford
Scene for publishing an article about the event. Several
visitors said they came because they had seen the
Seaford Scene article!
Look out for future Splash exhibitions!
