A DIGITAL ONLINE INTERACTIVE MAGAZINE EMPOWERING
WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS ACROSS OUR COUNTRY

From the Desk of
Robbie Motter
nafe Global Coordinator
& GSFE Founder/President
2020 is going to be a great year for each and everyone of
you. So step out, step up and go for it!
“One of the most courageous things you can do is identify yourself, know who you
are, what you believe in and where you want to go.”
Remember “You are more powerful than you know; you are beautiful just as you are.”
nafe and all it's directors are here for you, so if there is something you need help with
don’t be afraid to ASK. Asking to me is one of the most powerful words there is, just
like SHOWING UR As I always say showing up is like a treasure map, you never
know what treasure you will fin, and no matter where I show up I always find a
treasure of some sort.
Send us articles for our on line news magazine, send us things your doing so we can
share them, we are totally here for you. I will soon celebrate 29 years of serving nafe
and all its members and its been a blessing to me.
We have a new website wrnafe.com would love you to take a look at it and also look
at our alobalsocietvforfemalentrepren eurs.org
GSFE is the non profit arm, we do the nafe conference, the awards and all the
training's, mentoring and more. We have two training's coming up the flyers are in
this newsletter, we are paying half the fee for you if you are a nafe member for each
of the workshops. You only have to pay S16.00 to learn from these two dynamic
trainers. The funds we collect are going to the trainers not to GSFE, and as I said we
are cutting a check for the other half. You must register ahead of time and register for
each one the link to register is on the flyer. We also need to get a minimum of ten for
each class to hold it so don't delay do your reservation today.
This year we want you to identify something that you have wanted to do for a long
time but it's out of your comfort zone and we want to help you achieve that goal. I
recently did something out of my comfort zone and when it was over I could not
believe that for months I let it stress me out as it really was not as bad as I thought I
had just worked myself up to think it was and I was thrilled that I stepped out of my
comfort zone to do it. So what have you been letting fear stop you from doing? Let's
accomplish that it 2020.

Remember I am always here for you as well, you can call me anytime
951-255-9200 or email me rmotter@aol.com or text me, I really do not prefer
messenger so if you can use these other resources I appreciate that. Let me
know what you need and let me see if I can help you as together we can do
more.
One request I have is that you SHOW UP for nafe meetings and tell friends
about our networks as each director works very hard to bring you in dynamic
speakers and have great meetings and it also would be great if in 2020 you do
RSVP it really helps us.
Much success to you, remember no dream is impossible, its up to you,
sometimes it's not always easy but if you never give up it can and will happen.
And most of all remember this quote below:

Birthday wishes for
December, January and
February go out to: (They
are in nafe network order)
We hope that you had and
have an amazing birthday
filled with everything
wonderful.
I can’t wait for our meeting on January 23! It will be the first time we get together at
Summerly since our October meeting when we talked about “gratitude”. What we were
grateful for boiled down to three things: family, friends and support systems, and health.
Interesting that money was not on our list.
We have a great lineup of speakers for the year at a great venue with great food. All we need now is YOU. Bring
a friend each time and imagine how we can grow and help each other.
Our January Speaker is Lori Brown -Wirth, topic "Overcoming Insecurities and Building Confidence"
IN February we will get to hear Claudia Cooley, "Creating The Life You Live" and March we have Judith Balian
Topic" Your Mind On Marketing" and the rest of the year we have lots more dynamic speakers

There´s still time…
by Virginia Earl
Sometimes life happens so fast that we don’t realize until it’s too late what really happened. We have goals and dreams and we are
often faced with obstacles. These obstacles can come in many forms but the core of these obstacles are deep “emotional blockages”.
We may have goals and dreams of someday having our dream home, the ideal job, the ideal income, the ideal relationship, or this
and that. However, if we are confronted with emotional blockages, our goals and dreams can be negatively affected and delayed.
When our own emotions aren’t healthy and well-balanced, they can create a ripple effect on everything around us, our relationships,
our career, business, finances, our decision-making and above all our health. These negative ripple effects will pull us backwards and
delay the very same things that we work so hard for.
If you carried over any emotional blockages from 2019 into 2020, or from even years ago, consider releasing them and letting them
go. There’s still time. Whether you are holding onto feelings of resentment or anger against someone who is still alive or who has
passed away, put your ego and pride aside and let go.
In the end, it isn’t about proving who is right and who is wrong. Sometimes we find ourselves apologizing even when it wasn’t our
fault but we do it because we care enough to show the other person that we value the relationship. This very same person could be
the one who was by your side in the worst moment of your life. Then one day something happened and you drifted apart for
whatever reason.
Go back to that moment and remember that at your worst moment, no one else was around to help you but this person. He or she was
by your side to listen, to offer you their support, to give you hope, to give you strength, to make you smile, to guide you, to help you
in any way, to wipe off your tears, to simply be there for you as a friend and let you know that everything will be fine.
If you want to make a change in your life, go within. Start with your heart. I cannot say it enough. Set your ego and pride aside and
be real. Otherwise, whatever negative emotions are holding you back, they will continue to resurface and haunt you until you face
them and release them.
So my “ask” to you is that you consider releasing any emotional blockages so that you don’t spend 2020 being in denial and ignoring
what’s really blocking you in every aspect of your life. This is where I can help you bring your emotional blockages to the forefront
and provide you guidance and clarity so that you can heal and live the live you deserve starting in 2020.
Menifee Nafe news
The Menifee January nafe meeting had 15 dynamic women at the meeting, they were my co-director Angeline
Benjamin, Nicole Farrell, Loren Fogelman, Mary Gelbman, Lynne Hartung, Deborah Irish, Christine Larson, Susie
Mierzwik , Cynthia Nemelka, Pat Walsh, and guests Roberta Ehlers, and Santina Licitra, and of course yours truly
and our Speaker,
Our Speaker was Lori Brown-Wirth and her topic was "Fullfilling Long Time Dreams" which she has personally
accomplished with the publishing of her book "Papas and Ponytails". Her story is compelling and all loved meeting
her. She is Temecula nafe member Christine Larson's cousin and flew in from Wyoming to speak to us. I also got to
interview her on my Diva Strategies for Success radio show on Thursday and her is the link.
https://www.blogtalkradio.com/diva-weekly-strategies-for-success/2020/01/10/meet-authorspeaker-lori-brown-wirthwho-had-her-2-year-old-son-kidnapped
We missed a few of our members who were recuperating from the Bug . After the meeting they continued to hang
around to talk to each other more to collaborate and even forming stronger relationships. I love seeing that.
Lynne Hartung who does a lot of volunteer work for the Temecula Valley Symphony told us about the "Tribute to
Barbara" concert on February 1st at 2pm at Temecula Valley high School, I already have my ticket as its going to be
great. She also mentioned a big fund raiser the Temecula Valley Symphony is doing which is going to be held later
this year at a fantastic Temecula winery, it's a dinner and concert and tickets will be $95.00. Don't have a flyer but
will get it in next months newsletter. I plan to go as the concerts are always so amazing.

Lynn also announced that Nicole Farrell our
fantastic singer/entertainer was going to be honored
by the Menifee Valley Arts Council as Artist of the
Month in Feb. Another nafe member Deborah Irish
was recently honored as an artist of the month, both
were nominated by Lynn. Lynn is also celebrating a
birthday this month On January 12th....Happy
Birthday Lynn.
nafe member Jean Olexa is visiting her son in
Virginia and will be returning on the 12th of
January. Jean has also visited long time nafe
member Sheila Caruso several times in the nursing
home she is at in Hemet. Sheila really does not
know anyone anymore, and its sad she will be in a
nursing home for the rest of her life. So say some
prayers for her, and take note that when you have a
chance to do something do it, as one never knows
when they can no longer do anything.
Below is a flyer of a great event that Jerome
is doing and he invited three of our nafe
long time friends to also be a part the concert
with him, they are: Robin Moss Manning,
Robin UnCapher and Fleet Easton all three
are very supportive of nafe, as well as
Jerome is a big supporter of nafe as well.
Nicole will be providing all the music for the
event. This concert is always such a great
event so think about getting a ticket and
SHOW UP and support him and the others. I
already got my ticket, they are only $20.00
and its an awesome event. Below is the
flyer.
It was great to see Pat Walsh at the meeting as she
has been traveling a lot and just got back from
Arizona where she spent the Holidays with her
family and prior to that she was in Hawaii.
Nicole Farrell has been so busy with her
entertainment gigs and the many events she and her
husband John do to support second generation
platter lead singer Jerome Robinson. Nicole does all
the music and John sets up all the equipment. One
day she may be local and the next in Palm Springs.
Nicole is also going to be performing at an Opera
House in Hemet, probably before you get this
newsletter and I know she will be terrific as she
always is.
Oceanside Nafe news
by Robbie Motter, Director
Our January Oceanside nafe meeting was awesome, we had 18 present
at the meeting, including Dr Cherilyn Lee who drove all the way from
Los Angeles to be with us. But the person coming the farthest was
Stone Love who flew in from San Francisco. Stone is the nafe director
for Bay area nafe networks and a long time nafe member and friend.
Our speaker Lori Brown-Wirth and her topic "Fullfilling Long TIme
Dreams" was great and she also traveled a long way to be with us as she
lives in Wyoming. It was great to hear her story as she had her 2 year
old son kidnapped and taken to Iran and did not get him back until he
was 25 and he was able to escape in a fishing boat. Her book Papa's and
Ponytails shares her story and all that she went through.
We also had a new member join Julie Hiltsley who is a Mortgage &
Reverse Mortgage Loan Office with GM Mortgage. She can be reached
at Julie@loansbyjuliehiltsley.com

Our guests were Evonne Thomas who is an independent certified Optavia Coach and Marrilee of The
Merrileeshow.com a great podcast show with guests, Stephanie Kannarr of Electri Dragonfly Productions and
Nicole Douglas from Enjo USA. Also Lynda Turner who was a guest of Co-Director Tammra Graves.
The food and service at the Jolly Roger is always first class and we love our room with its great view of the
water and the sunsets. we even had a little action as we left as 7 police cars pulled into the end of the parking
lot we did not learn why but they were sure visible. This is very unusual as the location is a very safe place.
Our next month speaker on Feb 10th is Lori Raupe and her topic will be "The Secret and Beyond: 5 Hacks
from Think and Grow Rich" Our lineup for Oceanside of speakers for 2020 is fantastic so we hope that all
will mark their calendars and show up.
This month I am going to feature member

Debbie Love who always has a smile on her face and is just
so awesome to be around.
Debbie Love is the Founder of Heads Up Self-Defense for
Women. She is a 4th Degree Black
Belt and Certified Instructor in Karate and an advocate for
women’s safety.
After the rape and murder of her cousin in 1988, Love began a
quest to learn self-defense but
nothing stuck. She knew there had to be a better way, so she
enrolled in martial arts to learn
from the ground up. That was almost 20 years ago. Now Love is
on a mission to educate
women that self-defense is not about being strong, it’s about
being smart!
Before devoting her life full time to empowering women, Debbie spent 40 years as a paralegal in Alabama, Georgia,
New York and California. you can reach Debbie at Heads Up Karate & Self Defense for Women 760-455-8562 her
Be" and is a guest on my radio show Diva Strategies for Success on Thursday January 23rd at 4pm on Blog Talk
Radio.
Looking forward to seeing you on February 10th at 5:30 pm at the Jolly Roger in Oceanside Harbor bring a friend. We
also invite you to visit other nafe networks as everyone is different but they all have dynamic women like you there. I
By Joan E Wakeland, Director
A New Year, A New location and New Goals Riverside/ Corona nafe Connectors are now meeting in a private
room located at 10391 Magnolia Ave cross street Tyler. It is in the Northgate Market, on the second floor!
This new location is great and what a selection of food they have to choose from. So when you come to the
meeting you look at all the prepared food, make a selection, purchase it and then either take the stairs or
elevator to the second floor and walk down to the private room which is great. The big decision is there are so
many choices its hard to decide what you want to eat and its so affordable. A big thank you to Gigi Banks for
helping us to find this new place, the owners are clients of Gigi and Marcy so they knew about it and shared it
with us, lots of parking and easy to get to.
Our first meeting was great as we had Barbara Berg as our speaker and she had a great new topic for us about
getting out of your comfort zone which is going to be the topic of her new upcoming book. She is always a
delight, funny and gives us great information so its always a joy when she is our speaker.
We loved hearing what everyone does as we went around the room for them to introduce themselves and also
shared with us how we can help them which is something that nafe loves doing for its members.

It was also great to see and meet Sharon Sear who is going to be the new nafe director for Rancho
Cucamonga/Ontario nafe. She is looking for a restaurant with a private room so if you know of anything give her
a call at 626-646-3647 as she is ready to get started once she finds the location. She is looking at the first
Wednesday of each month at 6pm.
We had a great group and several guests but also missed some of our regular members who were not able to make
it because of being under the weather. We hope to see them next month
This month we are going to feature nafe member Jill Eaton who joined
nafe in January 2019.
Jill is the Executive Director of Susan G Komen Inland Empire and has
been with the organization since January 2016. Prior to that she was the
Community Relations Director for Life Stream. She has a great
background in non profit management, public relations, community
outreach and fund development.
She has a BA in Business Administration and Marketing from Cal State
San Bernardino and a certificate for Fundraising and Nonprofit
Management from the University of CA Riverside.
She has a great passion for her work and loves working with Susan G
Komen,which helps so many.

Inland Empire Affiliate story
Susan G. Komen® Inland Empire was incorporated in 1998 and hosted its inaugural Komen Inland Empire Race for
the Cure® in 1999. Komen Inland Empire’s service area covers more than 27,000 square miles serving a population
of over 4.3 million residents residing in Riverside County, San Bernardino County and the Coachella Valley. Since
inception, Komen Inland Empire has awarded grants totaling more than $6.2 million dollars to local non-profit
organizations in the Inland Empire to fund breast health education, diagnostic services and treatment support.
Through events and donations, Susan G. Komen Inland Empire is able to bring funding and hope to the fight against
breast cancer. Each year the Komen Inland Empire Race for the Cure and Affiliate events raise significant funds
and awareness for breast cancer, celebrating breast cancer survivorship and honoring those who have lost their battle
to the disease. With corporate sponsorship, fundraising and donations throughout the year, strides are being made to
improve access to programs and services as well as the quest for the cures.
Each year, 75 percent of our net proceeds are awarded through a grant process to local nonprofit organizations and
mission programs at the Affiliate. Each grantee conducts a program that offers breast cancer education, screening or
treatment support to residents in the Inland Empire area. Since the Affiliate’s inception in 1998, more than $6.2
million has been given to local organizations that provide breast cancer education, diagnostic services, and treatment
support for the uninsured or under insured in the Inland Empire. The remaining 25 percent is directed to the Susan
As your director I am asking Members to bring just one person to experience what Nafe has to offer! I would also
ask that you mail a photo and a bio to me, this helps us when we are writing articles on our members to give them
more exposure which is something we love to do.. nafe plans to help you all , however we need your support &
co-operation. You have to tell us what you want. Please RSVP for meetings, let us remember that we have to tell the
We were very excited to see San Francisco nafe Director Stone Love up in Southern CA, while she was here she visited
the Hemet, Menifee, Temecula and Oceanside nafe meetings, She also was here for our Vision Board Class below are
a few photos taken while she was here.
Stay tuned soon for all that she will be implementing in the Bay area.

CO-DIRECTOR
Our January Topic from our dynamic speaker Lori Brown --Wirth was "Learning to Better Understand
Yourself" and it was great to meet Lori and to hear her story, I purchased her book and can't wait until I have a
moment to read it. Lori is nafe member Christine Larson's cousin and lives in Colorado and flew in to speak to
our Several networks of our and members visit her were cousin.. on vacation and having a ball . Barbara Berg was in Cabo San Lucas enjoying rest
and recuperation and the RingShui lady found herself a reversible Opal ring .
Tina Case was in Hawaii, my hometown having a great time and eating
awesome food, she hurt her ankle on a climb but hope she is doing better
and enjoying the beautiful island weather. I was born and raised in Hawaii,
love visiting in but could not live there for more than three months at a
time.
Mercy Decato was in South America and yet she and her partner in
Business Gigi Mindreau-Banks were in communication with me and
working getting all the flyers done while on vacation. They are a dedicated
team and do beautiful work. They did our nafe and GSFE brochure and they
are doing all our nafe flyers> Also every month Gigi is creating our network
flyers and they burned the midnight hours to get the master 2020 speaking
list. done so we could get it out to all our members before our first nafe
meeting in 2020. I love doing business with them and their work is first
class and they deliver what they promise. Gigi is a nafe member of the
Riverside nafe group and Marcy is a member of the Temecula group.
Rhonda Sher was going to come to meeting but she was fighting the bug
everyone had so decided best she stay home.

Kelly Robertson was at Menifee Mayor Bill Zimmerman's re-election launch in Menifee which had a huge crowd as he
has been an awesome mayor and I know will get re-elected as he is the People's Mayor., I would have been there had I
not had to run Temecula meeting, but I am first committed to nafe and then fit other things in..
Violet Williams just got back from Australia so was unable to join us, her husband is a very talented musician so they
travel the world, We are always happy to see her when she is in town. She also was recently ordained as a Minister so
that was great news as well..
Our fantastic Editor of The Valley Business Journal Linda Wunderlich was planning to come but had computer issues
and the guy working on the computer took longer than she thought so was not able to make it. In her business the
computer is key. We are most grateful to Linda as every month she adds information on our Temecula meeting in her
paper.
Although many were busy we did have a great group in attendance I think 13 or 14. My wonderful co-director Shelly
Rufin was getting over a bug but managed to feel good enough to come and join us. She has been very busy also
launching a new on line training system for helping youth get into colleges, which is her passion, she also found time
recently to connect with a former College friend. In 2019 her clients had great success in getting into the colleges of
their dreams and in 2020 she wants to help more youth prepare and be ready to get into their college of their dreams.
It was nice to see Daniela Bumann there as she has been so busy with clients and her new book that she has missed a
few meetings, but its always a joy when she can join us. She is a very long time nafe member, and is a dynamic
speaker and coach and is looking to get into more Corporate locations to coach their employees, she already has some
great corporate clients but would like more as she is seeing the great results in the corporations that she is training at.
Also great to see Gillian Larson there as Gillian is like me with so many meetings, but always makes our meeting
when she is not committed somewhere else. She shared the dates for 2020 Reality Rally which will be in May and
mentioned she always needs lots of volunteers and to go on the website and sign up, all the jobs are listed. I have been
a volunteer every year since she started it and its always such fun and the project does such good for Michelle's Place
and Cancer, So go to Reality Rally. com and see all the jobs and sign up early so you can get a spot that fits what you
want to do. Also the video from Gillian's Sue Talk in LA was finally released and she was awesome, I SHOWED UP to
support her and her talk was great, so here is the link to listen to it.
My link should be coming out soon for my SUE TALK in Orange County

also here is the info on Reality Rally dates 2020 put them on your calendar and check out the website it's an
awesome event that helps raise funds for Michelle's Place and CANCER
Temecula nafe member Michelle Aspen Sullivan is going to be moving back to Colorado where they lived before
they came to California, we will miss her but wish her great success in her new endeavor. Her beautiful house in
Redland's with swimming pool is for sale.
Another busy Temecula nafe member that was able to join us was Wildomar Councilwoman Bridgette Moore/
It's always great to see her as she is a busy woman doing many things for her town as well as working a full time
job and she mentioned she was starting a non profit, plus she is on many boards including the Dresses and
Dreams Project formerly Operation prom girl which the CEO is nafe member Dawn Schultz.
Kisa Puckett mentioned a great new thing she was going to be launching and this week she sent out an email to
me to share to get it out to our nafe members before she launches it to the world to become a
So here is that information, I signed up and so did a few others already so check it out and see if its for you.
Barter Box is a professional local and global exchange that will allow members to barter and trade services and
products without using cash.
She has a good number of slots already filled for founding member, so if you
want to jump in (and haven't done so already), please do so right away and
she is opening it up Monday to the public. Here's the link: https://www.joinbarterbox.com/
This month I am going to feature Temecula nafe member Marcy Decato
Our February 4th speaker for Temecula will be nafe Hemet member Lori Raupe her topic "Blindspots: How They
Can Harm Your Business" hope to see you there and please RSVP and those that were at January meeting be sure
and bring back those career sheets we handed out so we can see how many careers you have had in your lifetime.
For those not there we will have blanks for you to fill out at the February meeting.
Another goal this year is for every member to outline one thing they would like to accomplish but that's outside
their comfort zone, our goal this year is to help you achieve that.

We have had no changes to our meeting time or location.
We will resume meeting at 5:30pm @Alohas the 4th Wednesday of
We have a dynamic year planned for the City of Ventura and
West LA Nafe Ladies
It is always a pleasure organizing our agenda and networking with such special gals.
This January 2020, let’s focus on our goals for the new year. Why not, during your individual spotlight time share
your strategies to aim towards the direction of your dreams. Plan to ask what you may need help with.
Our speaker, Dr. Charlotte Laws will tap on Perseverance & how she used creativity to succeed. “ Thinking outside
of the box “ Check out her bio posted or sent in your email.
Our meeting in December was at noon. January 18th is at 11:30 am.Unfortunately the restaurant is closing at lunch
time on weekends. We can however continue to meet on Saturdays starting in February at Billingsley’s from
2:30-4:30. We can keep the duration at 2 hours. We stayed 3 hours in December for our holiday party & due to our
gift exchange & late arrivals. If anyone desires to stick around , we can congregate in the Lounge or
Restaurant after our gathering has adjourned. Just keeping mindful of everyone’s time. *Speaking of time,
Mid day gives lee-way for morning events, yet ample time for evening plans.
My vote is to stay put. We have a marvelous location that is right off the freeway. We play fair by being centrally
located within the LA arena. We have a room that seats 50 comfortably & if need be , can add 20 to an adjacent
room to dine.
I am looking to grow our network which is beneficial for all. Who knows, if we Grow larger than this #, we can look
for a larger venue. We also have plenty of FREE convenient parking. No challenges. Many facilities do NOT offer
this in LA.We can discuss this on the 18th. Feel free to contact me personally regarding the Change with your view
point. Looking forward to seeing all of you Saturday ~ Happy New Year 2020
