A paws-on approach: Health Insurance by Design boasts popular team member When 29-yearold Kyle Megraw recently stepped into his parents’ business as vice president of marketplace exchanges, he was actually the second of Keith and Karen Megraw’s “children” to become part of Health Insurance by Design. He was edged out of that honor by 12-year-old Konner, a popular team member since 2003. The four-legged, furry family member, an AKCregistered Shih Tzu, moved into the ofce at 1200 Bell Lane in New Albany when the older Megraws opened the business there. The energetic, friendly addition quickly became the MVP — Most Valued Pup — to the clients who walked through the doors, sometimes just to pet him playfully or pamper him with treats. “He has been a heartwarming element of our business from the start,” Keith Megraw said with a chuckle. From the time they adopted him — he also shares Keith’s birthday — Konner ft right into the Megraw clan of Keith, Karen, Kyle, Kela, and Kody. He’s ever since been the ofcial greeter, non-ferocious director of security, and masterful public relations specialist. Konner’s personality charms people who walk through the doors. He has been taught to bark only if there’s a good reason, so his pleasant yip alerts them of someone’s arrival in the parking lot. From the start, Konner settled into a routine of curling up on the love seat in the lobby to take a nap around 9:30 each morning. He even snifs out lost items in the ofce.
