MXGP 2020: NERVES<br />

focus on any other guys and I also started to<br />

question this idea that you have to do a lot of<br />

pre-season races. Why? I’ll ride at Hawkstone<br />

and have a few competitive motos against a<br />

solid field. Although I do believe it’s good to<br />

have one race before going to the first GP.<br />

Vialle: I sleep pretty good! I’m actually excited<br />

more than anything because it feels like the<br />

last GP – or big race – was a long time ago,<br />

a lot of months. I really enjoyed 2019. Every<br />

GP, every day at the circuit, every practice and<br />

now it means I’m really looking forward to go<br />

again.<br />

Hofer: I try to visualise the track before the<br />

sighting lap and then try to highlight areas<br />

when I am doing the sighting lap.<br />

Simpson: In the past we’ve been in Qatar and<br />

Argentina and there has been a stress-free<br />

vibe because there is either not much of a<br />

crowd compared to a European round or the<br />

paddock is not too busy. There is not so much<br />

‘weight’ and just the usual amount of duties<br />

like the TV graphics and photos to be done.<br />

When it comes to Saturday morning and practice<br />

then that’s when you start looking around<br />

at the other set-ups and riders and other<br />

changes that maybe you hadn’t seen up until
