If you were in the Englishman’s<br />
shoes, you’d surely be feeling<br />
maximum frustration. Like last<br />
year, Honda’s thinking seems<br />
to have mirrored what technical<br />
chief Takeo Yokoyama spelled out<br />
last year. “We concentrated in the<br />
winter time [of ‘18/’19] to give<br />
him as much power as possible,<br />
knowing that there will be some<br />
other problems. But we decided,<br />
OK, the problems will come,<br />
but again, he’s the best rider, so<br />
maybe he can manage.”<br />
To be fair, this thinking has been<br />
good enough to bring the rider’s<br />
title home in each of the past four<br />
years. But for how long can Honda<br />
continue placing all its eggs in the<br />
Marquez basket without getting<br />
caught out. With Viñales, Quartararo,<br />
Rins and Mir all lurking in<br />
the shadows, you do feel they’re<br />
riding their luck.
