Par la poétique simplicité <strong>de</strong> sa composition et par son exécution discrète, cette nature<br />
morte peut-être rapprochée <strong>de</strong>s œuvres que l’on rassemble sous le nom <strong>de</strong> Clau<strong>de</strong><br />
Joseph Fraichot et qui lui reviennent, ainsi possiblement qu’à son père Jean, son frère<br />
Jean-Pierre, et d’autres membres <strong>de</strong> sa famille. Il est probable que tous travaillaient<br />
dans le même esprit, proche d’ailleurs <strong>de</strong> celui d’un autre artiste bisontin, François<br />
Vispré, parti par la suite s’installer en Angleterre.<br />
In the poetic simplicity of its composition <strong>and</strong> its sober execution, this still life compares<br />
to the works attributed to Clau<strong>de</strong> Joseph Fraichot <strong>and</strong> may be given to him, but also to<br />
his father Jean, his brother Jean-Pierre <strong>and</strong> other members of his family. It is likely that<br />
they all worked in the same style which is also close to that of another Besançon artist,<br />
Fraçois Vispré, who later moved to Engl<strong>and</strong>.<br />
