Ecosystem
restoration
From planting trees to restoring wetlands,
NCC’s Conservation Volunteers make the
work of ecosystem restoration a reality
Here at the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC),
conservation is for the long term, and acquiring
important natural areas is only the beginning of our
work. Our team of skilled conservation scientists develops
management plans that outline how best to care for every
property that we own. Sometimes these properties need
a little extra care — an ecosystem might be degraded from
previous use, for example. When this happens, we turn to
restoration as a tool to try and get these habitats back into
the best shape they can be.
Restoration projects take on many shapes and sizes
across the country, from planting trees to creating wetlands.
However, one thing is for sure: we couldn’t do this work
without the help of our Conservation Volunteers!
