mining and later the industrial sector in connection with the national economic structural change, which meant a considerable number of layouts. Secondly, the two decades long unilateral economic policy of the central government did not give competitive possibilities for the region, so the construction of the new economic structure, the investors of great potentials and matching the local resources failed to happen. Thirdly, the central governments force the town, together with many other towns, to fulfil the binding functions in a lack-of funds mood. Calculating the two sides the strong points side is much more dominant than the weak one, the strong points are more lasting, having a greater effect and being effective in a longer time-span, whereas the majority of the weak points are short term and most of them can be handled parallel to the economic boom by well-planned development projects. The demographic, infrastructural, think-tank, landscape and cultural traditional components of the strong points mean appropriate pillars to further development and to the mining heritage being used as value, which in case it is realised may help solve the human resource, landscape, environmental and partly the economic problems, too. Naturally, the success of these is grossly influenced by the capability to use the opportunities of outside factors. It may be advantageous to this that most of these are connected to the strong points of the town; the dangers however depend in many respects on the further decay of the region and the inclinations of the central government.
