Accreditation Eligibility<br />
Individuals who wish to be accredited must demonstrate their competency as a<br />
timber cruiser. This requires completion <strong>of</strong> each level <strong>of</strong> the <strong>log</strong> and any other criteria<br />
as set by the board.<br />
Applicants must have Canadian citizenship, landed immigrant or permanent<br />
residency status.<br />
The Period <strong>of</strong> Accreditation<br />
Accreditation will automatically be renewed each year to members in good standing<br />
upon payment <strong>of</strong> the annual membership fee and receipt <strong>of</strong> the annual selfassessment<br />
declaration.<br />
Maintaining Your Accreditation<br />
As a forest pr<strong>of</strong>essional, each ATC/ATE must demonstrate continuing competency.<br />
The <strong>Forest</strong>ers Act, Bylaws and especially the A<strong>BC</strong>FP Code <strong>of</strong> Ethics and Standards<br />
<strong>of</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Practice impose a duty for A<strong>BC</strong>FP members to consistently pursue<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essional development as required to ensure continuing competency.<br />
Cancelation <strong>of</strong> Accreditation<br />
A<strong>BC</strong>FP council may cancel accreditation if it was made in error or under false<br />
pretenses or if members fail to complete all <strong>of</strong> the required steps to renew their<br />
annual membership.<br />
Appeal Process<br />
An applicant or struck member whose accreditation has been refused or revoked<br />
may provide written notice to the board outlining his/her request for a second<br />
review or reinstatement.<br />
Reinstatement <strong>of</strong> Accreditation<br />
Any person who has been struck from membership may have his/her accreditation<br />
reinstated if all conditions set by the board have been met and upon payment <strong>of</strong> all<br />
outstanding dues and fees.<br />
A person seeking reinstatement <strong>of</strong> accreditation due to non-payment <strong>of</strong> fees will be<br />
treated as a new applicant, having his/her qualifications assessed against current<br />
requirements.<br />
