fOR FINDING TilE DOMINICAL OR SUNDAY LETTER, AND TilE PLACES<br />

or TilE GOLDEN NUMBERS IN TIJE CALENDAR.<br />

TABLE l.<br />

o find the Dominical or Sunday Letter for any given Year <strong>of</strong> our Lord,<br />

T add to the Year its fourth part, omitting frncrion s, and also tbe Number,<br />

which, in T ABLE I., standeth at the top <strong>of</strong> the column wherein the number <strong>of</strong><br />

Hundreds contained in that given Year is found; divide the sum by 7,and if<br />

there be no Remainder, then A is the Sunday Letter; but if any number<br />

remain, then the Letter which standeth under that Number at tbe top <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Table, is the Sund3Y Letter.<br />

NOTE, That in all llissextile or Leap-years, the Letter found as above will be<br />

the Sunday Letter from the first Day <strong>of</strong> March inclusive, to [he End <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Year.<br />

To find the Doys w which tbe Golden Numhers ought to he prefixed in the<br />

Calendar In :my gIven Y car <strong>of</strong> our Lord, consisting <strong>of</strong> entire Hundred Years,<br />

and in all rhe inrcnnediate Years betwixt that and the next Hundredth Year<br />

following, look in the first column <strong>of</strong> this Table for rhe given Year, consisting<br />

<strong>of</strong> entire Hundreds, and against it, under each Golden Number, you will<br />

find tbe Doy <strong>of</strong> the Montb to wbich thO[ Golden Number ought to he prefixed<br />

In rhe Calendar, dunng that penod afOne Hundred Years: and if the number<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Day be greater than 2.0, it is a Day <strong>of</strong> March; but if it be less than 20,<br />

it is 0 Doy <strong>of</strong> April.<br />

The asterisk, affixed to certain Hundredth Years, denotes those Years which<br />

are still to be accounted Bissextile or Leap-years in the new Calendar; whereas<br />

all the other Hundredth Years arc to be accounted only common Years.<br />
