Mergers and Acquisitions

LEARNING OUTCOMES

1. Learn the steps involved in a successful merger

or acquisition.

2. Understand the tools used in each step.

3. Know when to walk away from a deal versus

proceeding to close.

4. Gain insight into the overall market and the

need to acquire or be acquired.

DESCRIPTION

This course will forward your understanding of each step in

the acquisition process, including understanding the need

for acquiring, prospecting, valuing the target, creating and

presenting the offer, doing due diligence and closing the

deal. Participants will gain an understanding of the various

components of mergers and acquisitions in the small and middle

markets, including tools and advisors. You will learn to recognize

red flags, how to move past them, and make better decisions on

when to kill a deal vs. moving forward.

Scott Myatt joined Caber Hill Advisors in 2017 as Managing Director on the

firm’s healthcare team with a primary responsibility to lead M&A activities in the

audiology and hearing aid industry. He has been recognized as one of the most

transformative executives in the audiology and hearing aid industry, completing

over 60 transactions.

Scott spent the previous 11 years working in corporate M&A for numerous hearing

aid manufacturers. Prior to entering the audiology and hearing aid industry, Scott

worked as an acquisition professional in the energy industry and as a valuation

professional for a consulting firm.

Scott holds a B.A. in Japanese from Brigham Young University, an MBA from

Colorado State University, and a Master of International Management from

Thunderbird School of Global Management.
