COURSE TITLE
Techniques for High-Impact Leadership
DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
Through interactive discussions, small group simulations,
360-degree feedback, and one-on-one coaching, this course
will give you a deeper understanding of high-impact leadership
and help you apply that understanding to take your leadership to
the next level. After completing the course, you will have a solid
foundation in the science-tested principles of leadership and
understand your own leadership style and preferences. You will
bring these principles and your personal practices together for
form a Personal Leadership Analysis Plan. The course includes
some pre-work.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Leadership Impact - What leadership is and how
it drives individual, team, and business results.
2. Leadership Actions - What high-impact leaders
do differently, and which actions come most
naturally to you.
3. Decisive Leadership - How to use data to make
smart and impactful leadership decisions.
4. Leading through Stories - How to craft a vision
and story to make leadership a reality.
5. Cultural Leadership - How you can create an
impact that lasts.
6. Impacted Leadership - Develop an action
plan for improved leadership based on selfawareness,
external feedback, and sound
science.
Troy Mumford enjoys doing research that explores leadership at different
organizational levels (e.g., supervisory, managerial, and executive), in teams,
and in shaping organizational culture. In addition, he investigates the types
and determinants of leadership team roles as well as the connection between
leadership actions and systems in driving organizational quality culture. He has
published his research in multiple premier journals. Troy is also passionate about
teaching, and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Organizational
Behavior, Human Resource Management, Compensation and Benefits, and
Management, receiving and being nominated for several teaching awards. He
has also been involved in variety of independent consulting and applied research
projects for organizations in the biomedical, manufacturing, financial, legal, and
airline industries as well as the United States government.
Troy received his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource
Management from the Krannert Graduate School of Management at Purdue
University.
