Plans underway to<br />
celebrate school’s<br />
150th anniversary<br />
Labour Weekend 2021 will be an exciting<br />
time for West Melton School, when it<br />
celebrates its 150th anniversary, and all<br />
alumni and current families and staff are<br />
invited to help them commemorate this<br />
auspicious achievement.<br />
A group of teachers, parents and students<br />
(past and present) are working together to<br />
make plans for a celebration weekend and<br />
hopes to welcome a wide group of alumni<br />
back to the school.<br />
Events over the weekend will include<br />
an open day, celebration assembly, social<br />
evening, dinner and dance as well as loads<br />
of fun activities for kids and adults alike.<br />

41 pupils and Charlotte Hill was the first<br />
day pupil. Currently, the school has 440<br />
students across years 1 to 8 and facilities<br />
have expanded to include a number of<br />
modern classrooms, school hall, larger<br />
school pool plus many creative classroom<br />
features.<br />
