When from sleep I first awaked under a shade<br />

Of flours near, I much wondered whence thither brought, <strong>and</strong><br />

Murmuring sound of waters made a liquid plain unmove’d<br />

And thither I went <strong>and</strong> laid me down <strong>and</strong> sank,<br />

Not with experienced thought, on the green bank.<br />

Expanse of Heaven it seem’d, <strong>and</strong> as I bent down<br />

Visage within the watrie gleam appeard,<br />

Even answering my own gaze with looks of love.<br />
