“We’re going to visit Historic Williamsburg,”<br />
Mimi said gaily, as if everyone had agreed, which of<br />
course they had not.<br />
“But we wanted to see Courtney and Alex<br />
today,” Grant said.<br />
One look from Papa told him that was just<br />
too bad.<br />
“We did promise,” Christina tried. But<br />
Mimi’s “evil eye” stare at her communicated the<br />
same thing: You’re stuck with grandparents today!<br />

through a beautiful forest and sometimes beside the<br />
water. Papa explained how <strong>Jamestown</strong>,<br />
Williamsburg, and Yorktown were connected in a<br />
triangle by the brick road.<br />
“Follow the red brick road,” Grant sang in<br />
the back seat, trying to cheer himself up.<br />
