Tom Mirus moved to Nashville, following his wife who<br />

took a new job there in 2009. He spends his time playing<br />

golf and is involved with Holy Family Catholic Church and<br />

Daniel Albers joined the County<br />

Attorney’s Office as Director of the<br />

Criminal Division.<br />

Bob Brand retired as Senior Director, Chief Products<br />

Counsel with the Harley-Davidson Motor Company in<br />

Milwaukee, Wis. He and his wife, Nancy, relocated to<br />

Louisville and hope to spend more time with extended<br />

family and old friends, including those in the St. X community.<br />

Charles Buddeke has been appointed Chairman of the<br />

Louisville and Southern Indiana Bridges Authority, which<br />

is responsible for building the new Downtown bridge, the<br />

East End bridge and the rebuild of Spaghetti Junction.<br />

Glenn Kleier, author of the novel The Last Day, is set<br />

to release a new work, The Knowledge of Good<br />

and Evil in February 2011. The novel is based on some<br />

intriguing historical incidents and scientific facts.<br />

Paul W. Olliges retired in September 2009 after a<br />

41-year career as a computer programmer and systems<br />

analyst for several local companies. He is enjoying this<br />

new chapter of his life immensely!<br />

After 22 years with Cexec, Inc. in the Washington, DC,<br />

area, Ed Simpson retired on October 1, where he<br />

provided acquisition support to the FAA and supported<br />

its data telecommunications program. Over the course of<br />

the next year, he and his wife, Grace, are planning a move<br />

to the Southeast coast. One happy boy whose time has<br />

come to go play!<br />

David Lawyer, and his brother, Larry, have opened<br />

Naked Pizza, a new pizza franchise offering a healthy fast<br />

food alternative. Their first store is at 135 Breckenridge<br />

Lane in St. Matthews.<br />

umpire in the girls’ Little League<br />

World Series televised on ESPN2 on<br />

United States Coast Guard Port<br />

Security Unit Number 309, based at<br />

Port Clinton, Ohio. One of only eight,<br />

the 140-plus person unit is a rapid<br />

deployable force that responds globally<br />

during times of crisis to areas to secure ports utilized by<br />

United States assets.<br />

Editor’s Note: Will Elpers ’10, son of Tommy Elpers†,<br />

was inadvertently left off the list that appeared in the<br />

summer issue, as member of the Class of 2010 whose<br />

father graduated in 1982. We apologize for the error.<br />

Eddie Lacefield married Betty Redfern on July 31. The<br />

happy couple resides in Ocala, Fla.<br />

Holly and Earl Winebrenner have been selected to<br />

chair a brand new event to the <strong>Saint</strong> <strong>Xavier</strong> community,<br />

Legacy…A Gala of Giving. The event will premier at<br />

St. X on Saturday, February 26, 2011, and will recognize<br />

members of the St. Francis <strong>Xavier</strong> Society, invite new<br />

members into the charitable community at St. X, and bring<br />

everyone together for an evening of fun and excitement.<br />

Also, as class agent, Earl Winebrenner was honored as<br />

the 2010 Outstanding Class Agent at the annual Class<br />

Agents meeting on September 9.<br />

The Class had a tailgate tent at the St. X vs. Trinity<br />

football game and over 70 grads stopped by throughout<br />

the night. A great time was had by all and plans are<br />

in the works for a different get-together in 2011.<br />

The tennis tradition continues for Tim Gornet. Tim’s son<br />

Austin Gornet ’12, reached the semi-finals of the U.S.<br />

Tennis Association tournament in doubles on August 12,<br />

held in Kalamazoo, Mich. It was the first team from<br />

Kentucky to make it that far since 1962. Congrats to<br />

one proud papa!<br />

Ed Fallon and Paul Brezosky celebrated 21 years<br />

together on October 20. Congrats guys!<br />

UPS promoted John Beck to full-time supervisor in<br />

Industrial Engineering.<br />
