2009. Salty Paws sells parts and
accessories for boats, campers and
RVs. Alan’s experience and passion
for boats and RVs drives the business,

Tim Wolz was named head coach of the men’s soccer
team at St. Catherine College.
In August, Michael Oppelt joined The Healing Place as
Director of Development and is looking forward to making
a positive impact on the many men and women that need

Chris Newton and Bob
Howell participated in the
Chicago Marathon in October.
They supported Friends of
Prentice Northwestern
Memorial Hospital where Chris
is a board member. This was Chris’ first marathon (3:58)
and Bob’s second in the last 10 months (3:39). Both set
personal records for the distance. Chris lives with his wife,
Stephanie, and two sons (Charlie and Andrew) in Chicago
and is Managing Director at Wintrust Financial. Bob
resides in Plano, Texas, with his wife, Melinda, and two
daughters (Meredith and Caroline) and is Vice President
of Sales for Manhattan Associates.

Kevin Curtin married Deana Logan

they make their home. Former class
representative, Sam Kudmani was

that the two Tigers could be reunited.

Former St. X faculty member Doug Schutte and fellow
alums Jon DeSalvo and Scot Atkinson, have opened
“The Bard’s Town,” a new restaurant, theatre, and bar
in the Louisville Highlands. The Bard’s Town, located at
1801 Bardstown Road, opens at 4:00 p.m. daily and
offers live entertainment nightly. For more information,

In July, Rick Nord participated in a triathlon along with
some other huge guys for a charity he established called
Team BIG. Each member is 6'3" and over 225 lbs. Team
BIG got involved in the triathlon to raise money for
research to battle children’s cancer, as well as provide
comfort and fun during their treatment. The team also
honored Ellie Nunn, daughter of Brad Nunn, during the
race and through fundraising. Ellie was diagnosed when
she was two-years-old with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
She’s a tough girl who fought well, and her cancer is
currently in remission. If anyone would like to contribute

in Florence, Italy, as a Fellow at Villa I Tatti, Harvard
University’s Center for Italian Renaissance Studies.

with pancreatic cancer and asks for prayers from his
St. X family for himself, his wife, Michelle, and

Dr. Jamie Warren, a graduate of
Bellarmine University, the University
of Louisville Dental School and the
University of Louisville Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery Program, has
begun his professional career at the
Kentuckiana Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery Associates, PSC. Jamie
resides in Louisville with his wife,
Jeni, and their five children, Olivia, Grant, Parker,
Landon, and Hunter.
Nykole and Sean Smith

completed the World
Championship Ironman in

Sam Hanke, MD, was awarded a fellowship in
Pediatric Cardiology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital
Medical Center. Sam and his wife, Maura, live in Cold
Spring, Ky.
Matthew Deeley, a medical physicist, has accepted a
position at the University of Vermont Medical School in
Burlington, Vt., where he will be able to research, teach,
and practice clinically in his new position. He and, his
wife, Christine, and one-year-old son, Broderick, will
relocate from Nashville to Vermont.
Christian Sawyer is teaching in the Graduate
program for teacher education at Vanderbilt University.
While completing his Ed.D. degree, Christian is focusing
his research on comparative curriculum trends in the
Jefferson County Public Schools.
