RVs. Alan’s experience and passion<br />

for boats and RVs drives the business,<br />

Tim Wolz was named head coach of the men’s soccer<br />

team at St. Catherine College.<br />

In August, Michael Oppelt joined The Healing Place as<br />

Director of Development and is looking forward to making<br />

a positive impact on the many men and women that need<br />

Chicago Marathon in October.<br />

They supported Friends of<br />

is a board member. This was Chris’ first marathon (3:58)<br />

and Bob’s second in the last 10 months (3:39). Both set<br />

personal records for the distance. Chris lives with his wife,<br />

Stephanie, and two sons (Charlie and Andrew) in Chicago<br />

and is Managing Director at Wintrust Financial. Bob<br />

resides in Plano, Texas, with his wife, Melinda, and two<br />

daughters (Meredith and Caroline) and is Vice President<br />

of Sales for Manhattan Associates.<br />

Kevin Curtin married Deana Logan<br />

they make their home. Former class<br />

Former St. X faculty member Doug Schutte and fellow<br />

alums Jon DeSalvo and Scot Atkinson, have opened<br />

“The Bard’s Town,” a new restaurant, theatre, and bar<br />

in the Louisville <strong>High</strong>lands. The Bard’s Town, located at<br />

1801 Bardstown Road, opens at 4:00 p.m. daily and<br />

offers live entertainment nightly. For more information,<br />

In July, Rick Nord participated in a triathlon along with<br />

some other huge guys for a charity he established called<br />

Team BIG. Each member is 6'3" and over 225 lbs. Team<br />

BIG got involved in the triathlon to raise money for<br />

research to battle children’s cancer, as well as provide<br />

comfort and fun during their treatment. The team also<br />

honored Ellie Nunn, daughter of Brad Nunn, during the<br />

race and through fundraising. Ellie was diagnosed when<br />

she was two-years-old with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.<br />

She’s a tough girl who fought well, and her cancer is<br />

currently in remission. If anyone would like to contribute<br />

Bill Schook has worked as a Field Service Technician with<br />

CompuCom Systems in Louisville since October 2005.<br />

Craig Merimee was diagnosed in mid-October<br />

with pancreatic cancer and asks for prayers from his<br />

Dr. Jamie Warren, a graduate of<br />

Sam Hanke, MD, was awarded a fellowship in<br />

Pediatric Cardiology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital<br />

Medical Center. Sam and his wife, Maura, live in Cold<br />

Spring, Ky.<br />

Matthew Deeley, a medical physicist, has accepted a<br />

position at the University of Vermont Medical <strong>School</strong> in<br />

Burlington, Vt., where he will be able to research, teach,<br />

and practice clinically in his new position. He and, his<br />

wife, Christine, and one-year-old son, Broderick, will<br />

relocate from Nashville to Vermont.<br />

Christian Sawyer is teaching in the Graduate<br />

program for teacher education at Vanderbilt University.<br />

While completing his Ed.D. degree, Christian is focusing<br />

his research on comparative curriculum trends in the<br />

Jefferson County Public <strong>School</strong>s.<br />
