DESCRIPTION
A Level Economics
In addition to the
requirements for A
Levels on Page 15,
you will also need
a 5 for both English
and Maths.
This course is divided into two
sections, microeconomics which
studies the various parts of the
economy, and macroeconomics,
which focuses on the national and
international economy.
You will study the behaviour of
individuals and firms, and will learn
about how markets work and how
they sometimes fail, requiring
government intervention to put
things right.
COMBINES WELL WITH
Maths, History, Business Studies,
Politics and Law.
ASSESSMENT
This course will be assessed through
three mock exams in the first year
and three exam papers in the
second year.
PROGRESSION
ACADEMIC PROGRESSION
Progress into degree level
economics or related subject.
EMPLOYMENT PROGRESSION
You may choose to work in banking,
accountancy, insurance or financial
services, amongst other sectors.
