DESCRIPTION
In addition to the
requirements for
A Levels on page
15, you will need
English Language
at Grade 5 or above.
This course suits students with a
love of reading and writing, and
who enjoy a high level of analytical
discussion about challenging topics
such as gender, dystopian writings,
cultural identity and sexuality.
In year one you will develop
analytical skills and knowledge of
key terms through the analysis of
the use of language and literary
features in non-fiction texts, a
fantasy novel and contemporary
poetry.
Most lessons will involve debate,
discussion, offering and challenging
interpretations as well as close level
linguistic analysis of language and
form and how they shape meaning.
