Munster Rugby v Ospreys Match Programme

PRESIDENT’S WELCOME
game are working extremely hard to keep
everyone informed and engaged as much as
possible. All we can do for the moment is wait
for some positive news which hopefully will be
sometime in the near future. Clubs, players,
coaches, RDO’s, supporters and all concerned
certainly look forward to the day when rugby is
back in full swing and we get back to some sort
of normality.
Today we welcome Toby Booth and his
Ospreys team to Thomond Park for Round 6 of
the Guinness PRO14.
Ospreys come to Thomond Park after a tough
start in Conference A with two wins from five
- not the start they wanted and they no doubt
will be putting everything into today’s game.
Munster on the other hand have 4 from 4 and
will be looking to extend their lead at the top of
Conference B.
Unfortunately, last weekend’s game was
postponed and will be played in the New Year.
With no game last weekend, Munster will be
looking forward to getting on the pitch again
today and hopefully continuing their good run
of form. Again it is a game we will be watching
from home, but our hearts will be in Thomond
Park. We can only look forward to that day
when we will be shouting on Munster from the
terraces and stands once again.
On the domestic front there is little to report,
as things are as they were, with limited training
taking place in accordance with the guidelines.

The Munster Rugby Awards were held virtually
last week and congratulations to all the worthy
winners.
Sadly, we lost another member of the Munster
family this week with the sad and untimely
passing of John O’Neill. Johnno was everything
Munster - from a player, to his position as a
Regional Development Officer. He was a man
who contributed so much to Munster Rugby.
Our deepest sympathies to his wife Trish,
daughter Cathy and all the O’Neill family at this
sad and difficult time.

At a meeting lately Cathal Sheridan mentioned
a very apt Seamus Heaney quote: “If we winter
this one out, we can summer anywhere.”
