passed away on Nov. 1, <strong>2020</strong>, in Springfield<br />

Regional Medical Center. Born on Jan. 31,<br />

1933, in London, he was a son of Harley and<br />

HANNA<br />

Longtime resident of Bryan, Ohio, and current resident of<br />

Choctaw Lake, London, Ohio, Richard “Dick” J. Hanna II passed on<br />

Oct. 20, <strong>2020</strong>, at Mount Carmel Hospital, Grove City, at the age of<br />

76. Dick was born on Feb. 28, 1944, in Adrian, Mich., the son of<br />

Richard J. Hanna and Helen (Matthes) Hanna. Dick and Jeannette<br />

(Brown-Fisher) Hanna were married in Bryan, Ohio, in 1983 and<br />

were married for 37 years. Dick worked for Bard Manufacturing for<br />

47 years. He worked in numerous capacities in the organization and<br />

was the director of product management at the time of his retirement<br />

in 2015. In 2014, Dick and Jeannette moved to Choctaw Lake<br />

to be closer to children and grandchildren. Dick was an avid boater<br />

and enjoyed spending his time outdoors. Most of all, he enjoyed his<br />

grandchildren and supporting them in their various activities. Dick<br />

had served on the Choctaw Lake board of trustees and served on<br />

various other committees in the community. Survivors include: his<br />

wife, Jeannette (Brown-Fisher) Hanna; children, Todd (Deb) Hanna<br />

of The Dalles, Ore., Jon Hanna of Columbus, Ohio, Chris (Christi)<br />

Fisher of Delaware, Ohio, Bret (Will Pratt) Hanna of Park City,<br />

Utah, Stacy Fisher (Ian) MacGregor of Dublin, Ohio, and Shelley<br />

Fisher (Mario) Brunicardi of Hilliard, Ohio; grandchildren, Ashli<br />

Hanna Brown, Alyssa Hanna Drake, <strong>Madison</strong> Hanna, Ariel Fisher,<br />

Ava Stalter, Helene Stalter, Toria Stalter, Olivia Fisher, Julianna<br />

Brunicardi, Sienna Brunicardi, Bailey Fisher, Landon Brunicardi<br />

and Lachlan MacGregor; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Bill<br />

(Rosanne) Hanna of San Diego, Calf., and Kim Hanna (Bill) Edison<br />

of Lake Whales, Fla.; many nieces and nephews. Dick was proceeded<br />

in death by his parents and brother, Mark Hanna. There was no visitation<br />

or funeral service due to COVID-19. Friends and family may<br />

make memorial contributions to The American Heart Association or<br />

a charity of their choice. The family was served by Eberle-Fisher Funeral<br />

SMITH<br />

Carolyn D. Smith, 88, of Ashville, Ohio, formerly of<br />

Williamsport, Ohio, went to Heaven on Oct. 24, <strong>2020</strong>, at Mount<br />

Carmel Hospital, Grove City. Born at home in <strong>Madison</strong> County,<br />

Ohio, to the late Charles and Clara Wood, Carolyn was a graduate<br />

of Fairfield High School, Class of 1949. Carolyn worked for many<br />

years at the Deer Creek Resort Gift Shop, a job that she loved! She<br />

was a 65-plus year member of Heber Chapter 62, OES,<br />

Williamsport. Carolyn was preceded in death by: her husband, H.<br />

Donald Smith; her beloved daughter, Deborah Jo Smith; and her<br />

siblings, Jerry Rickert, Elizabeth Oyler, Charles Wood, George<br />

Wood and Margaret Carpenter. She is survived by: her daughters,<br />

Diane Smith and Beth (Dean) Reynolds; her grandchildren, Eddie<br />

Reynolds, Clara (Dana) Mikita, Dee (Tim) Forrest, Donald Smith<br />

and Deidra Jo Teets; her great-grandchildren, Gracie Forrest, Cole<br />

Forrest, Noah Smith, Estella Reynolds and Alex Mikita; and good<br />

family friend, Rod Teets. A private Eastern Star service was held,<br />

and family visitation and a funeral were observed in Carolyn’s<br />

honor. Burial followed the service at Springlawn Cemetery,<br />

ELLIOTT<br />

Bruce E. Elliott, 70, of London, Ohio, died peacefully surrounded<br />

by his family on Oct. 29, <strong>2020</strong>, at Mount Carmel Hospital in Grove<br />

City. Bruce was born on Oct. 4, 1950, in Washington Court House,<br />

Ohio, a son of Edwin L. and Virginia (Schiller) Elliott. He retired from<br />

Kroger Inc. with more than 35 years of service. He was a member of<br />

the London Jaycees. He spent much time hunting and fishing at his<br />

cabin in the woods. Also you could find him sitting in his backyard<br />

feeding the squirrels, naming them, and identifying the birds by<br />

species. His family was very important to him, and he enjoyed family<br />

celebrations. He is survived by: his mother, Virginia Elliott of Washington<br />

C.H.; wife, Nancy (Blazer) Elliott of London; sons, Ron<br />

(Leenita) Elliott of Westerville, Ohio, and Adam (Kasey) Elliott of Hebron,<br />

Ohio; daughter, Carla Baugess of Springfield, Ohio; step-children,<br />

Chance (Karmyn) Penn and Erin Penn of Oregon; brother, Gary<br />

Elliott Venice, Florida; sisters, Debbie Templin of Moraine, Ohio, and<br />

Pam Morton of Washington C.H.; grandchildren, Lindsey (Andy),<br />

Rachel, Emily, Mallory, Brandon, Brittnie, Heather (Zavier), Dylan,<br />

Rocki and Thorin; great-grandchildren, Ellyott and Andersyn. Bruce<br />

was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Elliott. Memorial contributions<br />

may be given to Disabled Veterans, ASPCA (The American<br />

Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) or your favorite<br />

charity. Bruce requested no memorial services and wanted his final<br />

destination to be his favorite fishing lake. The family entrusted<br />

BAIRD<br />

Larry R. Baird Jr., 56, of London died on Oct. 31, <strong>2020</strong>, in Riverside<br />

Methodist Hospital. Born on May 13, 1964, in Providence, R.I.,<br />

he was the son of Larry R. Sr. and Leah (Gillenwaters) Baird. A<br />

1982 graduate of <strong>Madison</strong>-Plains High school, Larry had worked in<br />

heating and cooling, as well as hospital maintenance. He was an<br />

avid sports fan and cheered fiercely for the Ohio State Buckeyes<br />

and Dallas Cowboys. Sports were one of his two biggest loves in life.<br />

Larry adored his family and didn’t know a stranger. Everyone he<br />

met became a friend and someone to take care of. Many extra holiday<br />

plates were made and sent with him to various friends, family<br />

and acquaintances who did not have people to celebrate with. Larry<br />

would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need and made sure<br />

the people around him knew he loved and cared for them. He was<br />

only a phone call away and would drop everything to help his family<br />

and friends. He is survived by his family whom he loved very much,<br />

including: daughter, Jessica “Jessi” Baird (Kevin); mother, Leah<br />

Baird; sister, Toni McDaniel; nephew and niece, Tyler McDaniel<br />

and Kayla McDaniel; great-niece, Erica Mc-<br />

Daniel; several aunts, uncles and cousins;<br />

and his favorite four-legged companion,<br />

Brutus. He was preceded in death by his father.<br />

The family wishes to thank a very special<br />

nurse, Jessica, for her tremendous care<br />

given to Larry during his time at Riverside.<br />

A graveside service was held on Nov. 5 in<br />

Range Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions<br />

Funeral Home, London, for the benevolence<br />

of the family.<br />

spending time at the Waffle House and<br />

Henry’s Restaurant and relaxing on the<br />

front porch. Survivors include many nieces,<br />

nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.<br />

He was preceded in death by: his parents;<br />

sisters, Jeannette, Inez, Connie, Virginia,<br />

Irene and Helen; and brothers, Harley Jr.<br />

and Garland. Funeral services were held on<br />

Nov. 6 in Eberle-Fisher Funeral Home and<br />

Crematory, London, with Pastor Scott Griswold<br />

officiating. Interment followed in Deercreek<br />

Township Cemetery. Memorial<br />

contributions may be made to the Disabled<br />
