Home for
the Holidays!
2020
the year no one will forget. First, the global
pandemic, followed by: quarantine, face masks,
social distancing, toilet paper crisis, lockdown,
work from home, hand sanitizer, virtual events, cancelled sports, Zoom,
travel bans, curbside pickup, essential workers, binge watching TV, home
workouts, e-learning, isolation, Amazon, driveway happy hours, driveby
celebrations, panic buying, Hulu, You Tube, Netflix, Tik-Tok, elections,
hurricanes, fires, and murder hornets.
Oh, what a year this has been!
Thankfully, our Village by the Sea has survived 2020 – because of our
residents and our loyalty to local businesses. We continued to support the
merchants that make our City special by ordering take out and curbside
pickup from restaurants, participating in virtual workouts from our favorite
gyms, and purchasing DIY spa and hair treatments from spas and salons.
Now the holidays are here and being home for the holidays will be
wonderful. Our Downtown Development Authority has been busy organizing
safe, socially distanced events around town. Beginning with Very Merry
Mondays Holiday Stroll. Mondays from 4-7 in a different neighborhood there
is a stroll highlighting businesses, with carolers, photo ops, and more!
We have a new Commissioner in town! Our City Person Juli Casale ran an old
school grassroots campaign, walking through neighborhoods for over three
months, knocking on 6,000 doors! This Harvard grad is an environmentalist,
tennis player, and animal lover.
Not ready to be indoors? No problem! With temperatures cooling down,
outdoors is where we should be! Dine outside, walk, and hang out at the
beach for fresh air and salt therapy.
Now is the time
to know that all
you do is sacred…
Now is the time
for you to deeply
compute the
impossibility that
there is anything
but grace.
